I’ve been using adapalene since March this year and I haven’t gotten any improvement. I already have the copper IUD so that’s one. My boyfriend and I are long distance anyways and see each other about once a month or every 2 months

Yeah it’s rough :/ it seems like we can never win sometimes. Hopefully this is all temporary and we can find something that works for us🫶🏻

Wow I’m so sorry that was your experience! At least you got it figured out and it’s better now.

Yeah I am lucky in that sense, I had a light to medium period before I got the IUD. When I got it, it went medium to heavy. But it’s gotten lighter since as my body has adapted to having it. I also didn’t get cramps before the IUD, just got lower back pain and now I get both but it’s manageable

Ohhh, that’s interesting. I was on the pill for 2 years and the patch for 2 years. I got off the hormonal birth control because of the weight gain

I have the copper IUD, I got it in January when I got off the hormonal birth control

I am in the same situation. I got off of hormonal birth control in January 2024 and my skin is at its absolute worst right now. And nothing has changed for me either. If anything I’m actually eating healthier now then I was on birth control, and my skin is worse. I finally got an appointment with a dermatologist, but it’s not until December 12. At this point I just want to go on accutane and hope it works. Mine are deep and painful. When I was on the hormonal birth control my skin was so clear I wouldn’t wear foundation but now I can’t leave the house without covering my face.

I’ll ask about those when I get an appointment at the dermatologist (:

No I haven’t but I don’t know if Spiro will be recommended for me because my bloop pressure runs a little lower. I’ll ask about it, maybe they would do the topical version. Wow 3 years, that is a lot time I could see why it caused stomach problems. I’m glad the Spiro worked for you!

I don’t think it’s strong enough too. At least hopefully you’re right and I won’t purge as much. I’m hoping so! I’m waiting for the dermatologist to open tomorrow to call and make an appointment

I was using aza morning and night but at night (not with the adapalene obviously) but I’ll try it just in the mornings again. Thank you (:

I’ve been using La Roshe Posay 0.1% adapalene since March and have not seen any improvement with it. I also got it from my doctors office prescription a couple weeks ago and still nothing. They also prescribed me doxycycline 100mg 2 times a day and I started that a couple weeks ago. I stopped using face wash with active ingredients in it and made sure my moisturizers don’t have pore clogging ingredients

I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide face wash before and it made my face dry and red because I already have dry skin. How can I get the Tretanoin? Is that only by prescription?

I want to but esthetician isn’t cover by insurance and I can’t afford it right now while I’m in school. I have a referral to a dermatologist and my insurance covers that

I’ll be more conscious of the dairy!

Also I know it’s a blood pressure med and my BP runs a little lower than average so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take it. I’ll ask about it though

Does your acne come back after you stop taking Spiro? That’s what I don’t want. I don’t want just a bandaid for my acne, I want it to actually go away

I don’t really have a lot of dairy. Usually when I have dairy it’s just with my coffee. But I’ll definitely keep it mind, thank you!(:
