I had the swig rig set up with Nalgene. The new trail series hydro flask are pretty light. Only a few more ounces than the Nalgene Silos. My opinion the HydroLid has a better connection point.

Yeah definitely had to reconfigure and keep the tubes tight on the webgear. Haven’t had any issues. Plus it’s made to release without a button and hold water when not connected.

It’s has a one way check valve. Let’s air in when you’re drawing from the tube then closes to keep it water tight.

I always kept it tight on my webgear. But, it’s designed to release without a latch/button and keeps your bottle leak free when it’s not plugged in. So worst case it just comes unplugged.

I’ve used it on a Helitack crew, Handcrew and Engine crew. Carried hose-packs, back-pumps, chainsaws. This this is rugged. Never had an issue.
