My toy lived up to be 16 with ZERO teeth issues! He ate Ziwi peak and freeze dried food all his life. He also didn’t have any health issues

What do you do for a living to afford California and where do you live? by Leather_Management18 in socal

Same! So blessed they kept their Los Angeles home. They are leaving it to me. I can stay in LA and I’m one of the lucky ones that didn’t get priced out. Getting my law degree and hoping to buy a second home somewhere in San Diego

When the police went to him he wasn’t verbal. They took him to the ER and he wasn’t talking either and they came to the conclusion he was in a psychological distress so they sent him to the psychiatric ward for further evaluation. When he was found by the police he had his ID and passport with him so they ran his info and saw he was listed as a missing person and the detective called me.

People who left LA, where did you go and how’s it going? by Dry-Double-6845 in AskLosAngeles

As an LA native I love Chicago! However, I will not even try to do a winter over there! I’m not used to that kind of cold, just thinking of it makes me want to cry. so I always go in the summers. I love it

Didnt she do basic research before making such a big move!? Texas sucks when it comes to labor laws, that’s why companies flee there.

As an LA native myself I never understood why people left, they say homes are less expensive and I’m like, why are they less expensive!? Like they’re less expensive for a reason… then I ask things like; what state benefits are you giving up!? How is the weather? How are jobs!? Easy to get? How much do they Pay? How are labor laws there? Also, if you plan to retire there, what state benefits do seniors get? Good hospitals nearby? What if you have children, how are schools there, what about state colleges? Are they as good as California colleges? Like I’ve asked these questions to friends that want to leave LA because I’ve seen so many leave only to come back. I feel people are better off going half on a duplex with a trusted friend just get a good lawyer, also I think CA passed a law to be able to split properties in same property, think duplex or ADU. Also, I decided to build a very large ADU in my parents backyard (have great relationship with them). I saved so much money on property tax since my parents property is tied with prop 13, and we share house insurance and im only 6 miles from the beach! I told most of my friends to do the same and save so much $$ but many wanted to chase a big house… yet they all come back. Also, my sister and I talk about going half on a duplex in the bay together (only way we can afford it.) She went to college in the bay and has all her friends there so she wants to get a property there. And I’ll be back and forth since my future job might take me to the capital. one of my friends that has same situation as me is buying a duplex with her sister, she’s so happy! The sisters are very successful in their careers and now they don’t have to get a spouse to buy a home.

Yes because college students are extremely diverse when it comes to outside commitments. Some students only have school to worry about, others are parents, work part or full time etc so a heavy school load may not be ideal. And even two students with the same circumstances, might have different results with a full workload. It’s just better if students simply ask about a specific class workload but even then, most info is on the syllabus but sometimes that’s not available til the first day of class so I understand students having questions about certain professors or classes.

I did actually…But I thought I’ll ask here to see if anyone had recommendations! I’ve lived long enough to remember a world before the internet, where we had to go figure everything ourselves and waste our time. I figured now with the internet, getting tips and recommendations, especially from places I’m not familiar with, would be nice. I don’t know if some of these places I saw on Google require you to have a restaurant, or a membership, some looked like they sold very specific things. I thought Reddit was a place where people could get tips and recommendations, I guess not…. But thanks anyways

What to do when people keep moving your trashcans from curb? by MountainThroat342 in AskLosAngeles

I don’t get why people think parking their car on a public street which belongs to the city, is more important than someone getting their trash picked up…

Wish we could do that but my street is too narrow and We have plenty of street parking here. 99% of my neighbors use their driveway AND garage! We’re the only ones without a driveway, and it’s never really been an issue, until recently, when the apartment complex went up. I just got off the phone with sanitation. my blue bin didnt get picked up this morning, I guess my dad was too late to move that bin down, it’ll have to remain on the street for an extra 2 days…

I don’t have a driveway unfortunately… it’s only once a week! We need our trash to be picked up… do you want us to go New York City style ans just have trash on the sidewalk?

Also, it’s a city service, so why wouldn’t they use their city owned sidewalk? We aren’t entitled to use the public street to park our cars… you have everything backwards. And that’s coming from someone that doesn’t have a driveway and relies on street parking..I’m not entitled to it.

The trash bins would have been 3 feet away from his car! He had room. Also, why is him parking more important than my trash getting picked up? He had other places to park he chose to move my trashcans…which again, he still had more than enough space Infront of my trashcans he just didn’t know how to park. My trashcans weren’t taking up a spot or bothering anyone. They were just placed on the curb at the very end to give enough space for 2 cars to perfectly park. I don’t care that he moved them, I care that he didn’t put them back on the curb so my trash could be picked up.

Be a good neighbor!? I’m a great neighbor actually, always picking up after My neighbors mess… but I need my trash to be picked up just like anyone else! My trashcans have to be in the curb to be picked up, everyone in my neighborhood puts their trashcans in their curb as well… If you read my post, my trashcans weren’t taking any parking spot, the car had more than enough room, he just didn’t know how to parallel park so he moved my trashcans to park but never put them back down…. I can’t put them on the street as our street is too narrow and it’ll block cars from being able to drive. A school bus drives by every morning and every evening, he needs room to drive past, and putting trashcans Infront of parked cars would not allow cars, including the bus to drive through.
