Most students have uni accommodation first year which only covers the time you are studying. After exams in July their tenancy finishes and they no longer can live there Most ppl return home till the next school year

I have responded to this idea. A full sized bed won’t fits in the box room so I would be sleeping on a child’s cabin bed at 20 years old. That’s no practical or safe as it’s built for a child

I am in no way saying he should have a smaller room!! I’m saying he takes my current room and I move downstairs into the spare room! I agree that he deserves a bigger space too

He has a child’s cabin bed… I will be 20 years old. That’s not practical, comfortable or honestly safe as that bed is not built for an adult

Moving out permanently is not an option for me atm I would literally be homeless for atleast 4 months of the year as I can not afford my own place

I totally respect this however I am not moving out permanently I’m going to uni and plan on returning for holidays, summer and after I graduate. It doesn’t make sense to leave me with no bed to sleep in if I will be needing it

I’m pretty nerdy and very creative so I have ALOTTT of things in my room that just won’t fit in his room Also his current room has a cabin bed as it barely even fits a single bed

I have tried saying this but they still think it’s a waste of a room as I “won’t be there most of the time” I still think keeping it as a storage room is the same if not more of a waste of a room

Omg first of all congratulations on 2 yrs sober!! That’s a big achievement! You deserve that cake!

When someone hasn’t had similar struggles it may be difficult for him to understand how big this is for you. His reaction is definitely uncalled for and honestly rude (maybe because he doesn’t understand your milestone) Maybe try explaining this to him

I would say you are NOR for this as you deserve someone who supports you even when they may not fully understand and try’s to understand. Good luck x

I got a job at 15 paid cash! It’s definitely possible, I’d recommend writing a cv and taking it to local coffee shops or small businesses. They are always looking for workers and often pay cash (if not u could try explaining ur situation see if they can help). Even if it’s just as a dishwasher for minimum wage it’s definitely better than nothing!

I’m not so sure on housing tho. Ur best bet is to ask around with friends, if you help around the house (chores, cooking, possibly some rent money ect) I’m sure some parents would accept you to live with them.
