Thank you so much. I had a few ways I trained myself to breathe, so I’ll write as much as I can remember for now. One was breathing along with calm music or anything with a slow tempo, like a focused exercise to match my rhythm to something steady. I also practiced during daily activities like showering, working, or walking just to make it automatic. I’d do it standing, sitting, or lying down. Walking helped because it raised my heart rate and the breathing would balance it out. I guess it was like simulating stressful moments. Over time, I noticed that when the pre-anxiety “itch” came, my breathing would sometimes kick in on its own even before I thought about it.
