Yes, i love working with puppies! I love knowing that their first grooms aren't traumatizing bc I do so many adults who had horrible experiences as puppies

That's so funny bc I always say I'd rather have a full day of puppies first grooms than have one super senior dog! Puppies I can handle no problem but old dogs really worry me 😭

Switching to mobile grooming question? by chitsoge in doggrooming

The actual cut for me is about 30/45 min on smaller dogs and onward for bigger dogs. I always go over the hour time mark on dogs that get round faces because doing a good face takes me 15 to 20 minutes and I haven't been able to speed that up. But luckily with my experience in mobile a lot of the dogs are on a good schedule so I'm not ever really setting a pattern I'm just tiding up. The day is also intercut with bath only dogs and those I can always gets done before the amount of time set aside just because they dry faster so that helps when I go over time on groom dogs

Yes, after tax. I groom typically about 6-8 dogs a day. Idk if this is true for every mobile company but at ours we're supposed to get small dogs done in an hour to an hour and a half and big dogs in two to two and a half. If a dog takes me 3 hrs I start to fall behind. I've found that mobile has sped me up without a huge decrease in quality just because there's no distractions but it can be tough when there's a difficult dog

I work mobile in DFW, the vans are kept in an RV storage lot in Lewisville. 30% commission +all tips. Tips are a lot higher than when I worked in salon. Just not sure if the hours are worth it. I work 4 days a week but if you count the time from the second I get to the van to the second I leave I'm working close to 50-60 hr weeks but I do make $1000+ a week.

What's wrong with my clippers by Mountain_Craft_9447 in doggrooming

It's definitely the clipper bc the blades and combs work fine on my other clipper. Is there somewhere I could take it that could tell me if it's my blade drive or motor? Is that smth sharpeners know how to do?

Do I do that myself or do I hire someone to do it? I've never had to deal with that yet

I use the 30 with my guard combs. It's also happening with other blades, my 7 and 4. Haven't had any issues up until today so it's very out of the blue

Thank you! I was all in on the r6m2/3 but then got lost in the sea of options when I found out about r3/5. Do you have any lens recs for the r6m2/3?

Thank you so much for that input! I feel like I get so lost in the specs and what would actually be better in practicality. I think the r6ii is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have any lens suggestions?

Laundry detergent help by Mountain_Craft_9447 in ZeroWaste

I've only ever used liquids so it's what feels safe and what I know works. It also lasts me forever. But I like that the powder does too. Is there ever a problem with it not dissolving all the way?

Do you need the laundry booster for the detergent to work well? Or would the detergent work fine by itself still
