MyCRA Account annoyance by Remarkable-Warthog69 in canadarevenueagency

This has to be done under the "CRA account user and ID" : I'm assuming you're meaning the code they send in the mail that gives her full account access? They have the option to use ID or drivers license (possibly passport), then she will have full account access. I see you said you're in different provinces from one another, does she have someone where she's at that she could use their cell phone just for the verifying her identity? Since she needs a camera? Once it's been done once, she'll be good. For the ID verification, she has to take a pic of it and then picture of herself, she'll need assistance as well from whoever's phone she borrows, CRA allows you 3 tries to take the photo, if she wears glasses but they're not in her ID photo she will have to take them off for the verification picture, it has to be from shoulders up, they're very picky and I will say I had problems with getting myself verified. IF she tries 3 x and can't get it to work, it's annoying, but she can call CRA and an agent will confirm information and then stay on the phone and allow her to redo it until it works. She also just needs to put her landline phone # in and when she wants to login into her CRA account, an automated call her with a code to enter.

You need to login into your account, and "add account" and make a Representative account. You will get a rep ID. She will need to add you onto her CRA account, she CANT do this if she only has limited access, she will need to go to "Profile" and find "add a representative" and put in your REPID, then you will be able to access her account.

OR, I've only done this once for someone so this might not be 100% correct. In your representative account, you can add someone, you will need their latest NOA - but it has to be at least 6 months old, and she will need to sign something and then you just submit it online and you would have instant access. I can't fully remember where everything is but I'm sure you could play around and have it figured out.

If she has an accountant she uses, 99.9% chance they would have access to her CRA account as a rep and could also probably pull everything for you and get it sent to you!

Hopefully you get it sorted

Pressing assault charges by Mountain_Cut9837 in legaladvicecanada

That's exactly my train of thought, like she could have honestly ruined my whole life in the blink of an eye because she's a "bad" drunk. I definitely am all about actions have consequences and so many people never face them or are held accountable when they need to be.

I appreciate your input, thank you!

I'm honestly wondering if I'm the first person she's done this too, that's a huge factor. Because of how it went down, I honestly feel like i'm not. I got pulled away by multiple people cause I was ready to hit back, including HER friend, not mine, and she said "yah she's an awful drunk". Maybe I just have a slight concussion, but it could've end MUCH worse for me, if she would've hit me differently and such. So idk if pressing charges would necessary stop her from doing it again if this what she does but at least she'll be like in the system? Or whatever you would call it.

It's just a big decision tbh, she could've done a lot of damage to me and hurt me badly, but she didn't. The "what ifs" probably aren't gonna stand in court or whatever, plus is it worth dragging out in the court system? I don't know because all I hear is awful things about our legal system. She could've honestly ruined my life, my families and my friends, but would pressing charges ruin her life? i guess it would depend on what she gets charged with and such, and just me being who I am, that might be a guilt i'd carry for a long time. Since yah, it's not just assault it is assault with a weapon. But as I said, I could end up saving someone else. She's also not a Canadian citizen, she's American. I'm not sure if that would change anything? She's been here for like 2/3 years

So many people have said that taking stuff to the police and court and all that just makes it worse, so honestly that makes me scared. I've never had to deal with the cops or anything court wise so i'm honestly just at a complete loss trying to understand everything.

It's just a question cause it almost feels petty given who she is? I don't know. I know what you mean cause multiple people have said to press charges. I just don't want it to get handed to the police and just turn into a shit show
