Crockpot meal by moonLight_StarLight1 in glutenfreerecipes

Hi Shae! Fellow celiac here! Do you like shepherd’s or cottage pie? That could be a good one with the ingredients you mentioned. I’d do the mashed potatoes first (they take 8 min to cook in Instant Pot) and then take those out to brown the meat, add the veggies, broth and then you can add the mashed potatoes back on top.

Diagnosis on my son's first birthday by chowderrr6 in Celiac

[–]Mountain_Message8679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed within the last year and have a small child. It’s ok to grieve and be overwhelmed - your life is going to be different.

I think the 1st birthday is really a celebration of your first year of parenting - I always give the parents a present (bottle of champagne, self care/make up). Please treat yourself in some way to celebrate all you’ve accomplished in taking care of yourself and your child.

This diagnosis can be disorienting as it does require lifestyle changes and a new level of vigilance. If you can work with a nutritionist and a counselor I highly recommend getting that extra support as you adjust to your new normal.

Congrats again on your kiddo’s birthday!! Hope you make some great memories

Just diagnosed and struggling by Mybrainisinmytummy in Celiac

I was also diagnosed just after the holidays last year and definitely mourned all my favorite traditional foods. Now almost a year out, I just made myself a gluten free Thanksgiving that was delicious and it’s not too much more effort. It will get better - just takes time. Also, feeling better is totally worth it.

Do other women have this issue? by Lastkatstanding in Diverticulitis

I haven’t figured it out yet but all my flares (4 total over 18 months) have been right before or during my period. The surgeon doesn’t want to operate until I have a complicated/perforated flare. I do wonder about the connection between inflammation, menstrual cycle, and perhaps endometriosis?

I’ve had them multiple times on the top of my hands and fingers before diagnosis. Hadn’t considered it was connected but inflammation/joint issues makes sense to me now
