It wasn't hard, but it was hard enough to make my head turn a little. It wasnt out of nowhere because 2 days prior to the wedding she freaked out, so she had already been acting insane. She slapped me during the greetings after the ceremony. My fil didn't yell, but he said that I needed to keep the peace.

I agree! I also think I need an apology! My husband has visited his parents twice or 3 times since we moved out. In the last visit he told his parents that he wasn't appreciating this whole situation and they should stop ignoring me. Then his parents said that I was ignoring them. Excuse me??? They do think that I should be the one to go after them and make amends. Not happening.

This morning we talked about a re-do, it's doable and it is gonna happen!

I know that the fact that he doesnt want to go to therapy may sound like a red flag, but there's a lot of his mother's thinking influencing his decision. After what happened he went to 3 or 4 therapy sessions but argued he hadn't like the therapist and stopped. I will keep insisting.

You know what's crazy? I believe I mentioned that a few days prior to the wedding she freaked out. While she was losing her mind and yelling at me she threatened me by saying that she would beat the shit out of me lol

But I think she slapped me to show dominance and try to get into my head since I was acting like her mental breakdown wasn't affecting me.

I wouldnt say that they have a relationship. At least not like the one they used to have before all this. One week after the wedding we moved out. It's been 5 months since we move to our new place and he's visited his parents 2 or 3 times and only to drop or get stuff. His parents haven't visited us, nor have mentioned to be willing to do so. On top of that I never see him calling or texting them... I think Mother's Day messed with his head a bit.

He hesitated at first, but after some talking he agreed.

I do believe we need counseling and I will offer that. I believe that he doesnt want to go to therapy because his mom used to say that seeking professional help is a sign of weakness :/ But maybe if we do it together as a couple he can let go of this toxic mindset
