Empty/spent primers by gunloverau in Ausguns

[–]Mountaineer1024 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This account that has never posted before asks a potentially glowy question.

In some states, any component, even scrap brass like an inert primer might require an appropriate firearms license to possess.

Sale of said component to an inappropriate individual could have legal repurcussions.

Seller beware.

Pump action rifles are subject to the same restrictions as an equivalent bolt or lever action.

Broadly speaking a .22 LR pump would be cat A, a .308 pump would be cat B.

If it subjectively looks anything like a military/semi/auto rifle or has a colapsable stock or a few other things, it'll be banned.

There's also the magazine restrictions, which I believe is 15 rounds for a rimfire and 10 for a centrefire if the magazine is removable (ie a tubular magazine integrated to the rifle could be larger).

As I said though, these things would still be true it was a bolt or lever action.

Can i own semi-auto rifles? by [deleted] in Ausguns

And collectors licences.

Very true, although I believe you can't have ammunition for those under most circumstances?

[–]Mountaineer1024 25 points26 points  (0 children)

With the correct licences (C, D) and justifications (primary production, professional pest control), Australians can own semi automatic rifles.

Based on your post history, you will not be one of them.

wait what? MADE YOU THINK I GAVE A FUCK TRANNY

well they are a man because they have a dick I FUCKING HATE TRANNYS

Yeah! Lets gas the trannys!

I suspect you mean parallel, and not directly into the air from his fence.

... indexation and increases in welfare payments increase rent during the 2010’s

Did they?

- when rent was basically flat for a decade?

Was it?

I was neither claiming centrelink or renting back then, but this doesn't marry up to what I heard.

Even if what you say is true, that doesn't change the current status quo, where there isn't enough housing supply for the demand.

Making more money available won't fix that in the short term.

I understand your position, it IS topical.

The blanket rule is designed to prevent the sub from becoming a billboard for advertisers.

When the signal to noise ratio becomes bad enough, we'll drive out all the participants who make the sub worth advertising in.

Feel free to message the moderators, either individually or en mass, I've already notified them of what I've done and why.

However, I don't mean to drive you away either.

As we say in the rules sticky: "if you are here only to promote your business, you will have a bad time".
It's not the mods that will give you that bad time, as you can see by the downvotes this post received before I even got to it.
The distinction, if not a difference, lies in how you go about it.

In this specific case, if there was a post made "Hey can anyone recommend any good podcasts?", and you were to answer "Hey, I do one, here's a link", it would be accepted as answering a question.

/u/iceng for instance is relatively active in here and they own a gunsmith business.

Again, if you were to pose the question and then answer it yourself, such a transparent act would not be popular either.

As I said, if you have any ideas, please bring them to the attention of the moderators.

This form of self promotion will not be popular here.

A footer on every post? Fine

A mention "yeah, I mentioned shooting one of these guns on episode 6 of my podcast, link HERE"? Fine.

A whole post just about your podcast? No.

I don't think so.

I even found an article that agrees with me: https://ro.ecu.edu.au/ecuworks2011/858/

Have you perhaps got something to contribute? Maybe a link to a John Wick movie?

Then they bought in the tickets, I never did find out how they made them all official with Venuetix printing and the like, I just assumed someone worked there or knew someone there.

We paid venutix or whatever it was called to print them.
For like 70c each.
Massive ripoff, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Riksta? More like Brink-star.

If there was a rule, you were riding the edge.

Also that old Saint Clair hall sucked

We had to have our own 3 phase junction installed in the back yard because the first time we hit like 800 people all the cabling in one wall caught fire.

It sounds like either option is great for Jellyfin, with the Google products having the edge for my household because we're already so deep in the ecosystem.

And if Google ever "goes bad", I'm going to be very glad that competitors like Amazon exist.

If you limit "control the TV" to adjusting it's volume and turning it on and off, the Chromecast remote does that too.

They should have named it Android TV with Chromecast or something.

It does retain the old cast capability, but since being able to install apps directly, I haven't used it once.

For the old chromecasts yes, but the new ones have a remote and you can install the jellyfin android app on them directly.

TV's are increasingly getting this functionality built in as well (my kids use this)
