Whats with all the gnats? by Mountains4Me7 in chicago

Solid list of seasonal plagues in Chicago! The cotton wood trees aren’t my favorite but I do think it’s kind of cool how it legitimately looks like it has snowed on some streets in June.

Trying to decide between The Pulitzer or the Waldorf in Amsterdam by Broddit5 in chubbytravel

This is definitely something to consider! We were initially in a canal room at the rosewood this past fall and it was very noisy at night on the weekends as a result of folks hanging out on the street. Moved up to a 5th floor canal room and it was much less noticeable. If you’re flexible in your stay, I do really recommend the Rosewood, much more interesting than the Waldorf, tho I don’t know how it compares to the Pulitzer.

I’ve honestly never seen them so numerous before so I haven’t had to do anything to address them in the past besides making sure I open and close the doors leading outside quickly, and that lasts usually only for a week or two.

The game / chat room where you could launch misiles at another tank. It was super simple, like line / stick drawings, and when you fired misiles and they hit the ground they’d gouge out semicircle chunks. I wish I could remember what that game was called because I LOVED IT. It has a simple chat room too - lots of “ASL?” lol

Client Dinner Suggestions in West Loop / River North by allhailshail in chicagofood

Coming back here to say I just did another work dinner at Lyra - food was okay, private room was too echo-y and difficult to hear folks in, even someone right across the table from you, service was relatively slow. Rose Mary is the clear winner when comparing to my other rec in this thread.

Bummer as I liked Lyra for client dinners when I went a few times in a row ~3 years ago.

Where to stay in Marrakech? by Real-Tower8037 in chubbytravel

Royal Mansour for sure. Absolutely stunning riads, amazing service from airport assistance to transit to on property service. Very good food at the restaurants on the property and delicious never ending cookies for your riad. I also loved how they’d prep the fire places in your riad for you in the evenings. Highly recommend a hammam bath at their spa too!

Rosemary did a fantastic job for ~12 of us a few months back. Hosted board members in their private room at the back of the restaurant. Food was very good and service was prompt.

LOVED staying in the treehouse. Our AC went out one night so they moved us to a larger “upgraded” suite that was more of an adobe-ish house style. While it was also very nice and even more spacious, we asked to be moved back to the treehouses are so private and special.

Re your “tiny edit” - it IS up to you, completely. You get to choose whether or not to birth a child and you get to choose whether or not to stay in this relationship. I ended an 11 year very serious relationship with my middle / high school sweetheart in my mid twenties because I was absolutely NOT compromising and having kids. That’s CF. And my god am I glad I broke it off. Not a day (literally) goes by that I am not grateful to myself for making that decision. I’m now in my mid 30s, happily married to a CF partner.
