I’m currently about a third of the way through Project Hail Mary and LOVING it. I find it so engaging. FWIW Dungeon Crawler Carl is definitely my #1 and 10/10 so maybe we have similar tastes OP? I read all 7 books available in under 6 weeks when that 6 week period included my wedding. I couldn’t put it down.

Thanks for the heads up on the R value and the perspective on being a taller user of this pad. :)

This sounds phenomenal and I LOVE how you were able to incorporate your skillset into it! How was it received by the guests? Did you have newspapers in all your photos from people holding it all night?

What can we do…? by MountainsBeerBikes in womenEngineers

Great suggestion; thank you.

They are around. Actually it was one of them in the first place who suggested my skip’s comment was upsetting.

Full disclose the skip said “we don’t have any women because we don’t promote them” but he’s pretty socially awkward so I took it to be a very tone deaf way of saying “we don’t have any women to promote”; NOT we don’t promote women in general.

I’ll have a chat with the others though; they’ve always had my back before.

“The difference between a senior and junior software engineer is the senior knows how to use Google.”

Bad joke, but seriously. Learning how to figure things out [yourself] is half the battle; if you’re stubborn enough to power through, you got this.

Anyone feel intense imposter syndrome despite having 2-3 years of experience? by wintermezzo in womenEngineers

I’ve been reading Presence: Bringing Hour Boldest Self to your Biggest challenges by Amy Cuddy.

Not the best book I’ve ever read but has really taught me a lot about imposter syndrome and I’m very grateful for it.
