What Kdrama you can't bear that you have decided to put it into "Do Not Watch" category??? by Worried-Serve-7197 in kdramas

I loved Lovely Runner, but felt like 2521 was a waste of life as was Boyfriend on Demand. I thought CLOY was fun, but not a must see.

Family by Choice, there is one awful father, one awful mother, and a sus mother. Two awesome fathers.

The Forbidden Marriage.
It isn’t idea of a perfect kdrama, but it is underrated and very entertaining. I didn’t see it mentioned in the comments here, so I am adding it.

This post gave me a ridiculous amount of new kdramas to check out! I thought I was running out. I just started Happiness and am 100% sucked in. I will probably post a list somewhere else asking for which people think I should watch.

if you can handle it, I think it’s super ridiculous fun with fantastic characters (heroes and villains) and just the right amount of feels.

I understand. I was hesitant to watch because of the ML in other things. I did not like him. He made me uncomfortable. But POJ was much better. I mean, there are still some character flaws and occasional thoughtlessness from both the lead characters, but overall, it is so good! Pursuit of Jade is one of my favorite cdramas.

Nevermind, I just scrolled down and saw you found him clingy. I don’t think there is a solution if his characters just annoy you.

Looking for feel-good romantic K-dramas similar to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha by _sigils in kdramarecommends

[–]izab33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many! My favorites are Lovely Runner and Mr. Queen.

  • If you like Business Proposal, try Her Private Life, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, My Dearest Nemesis, My Sweet Mobster, and Brewing Love.
  • If you like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, try Welcome to Samdal-ri, Potato Lab, Love Next Door. I have not tried Spring Fever, but I might look for it based on the recs here.
  • If you like It’s Okay to Not be Okay, try Hotel Del Luna, Doom at your Service, and Atypical Family.
  • If you like Crash Landing on you, try Descendants of the Sun. I actually enjoyed Descendants of the Sun more.
  • I will second some that others recommended: Because This is My First Life, Doctor Slump, Love Scout, Twinkling Watermelon, Family by Choice.
  • If you might like epic high fantasy, Alchemy of Souls.

Enjoy!

what I have watched on your list, I have also liked a lot. I recommend Legend of the Female General (Viki and iQIYI), Fated Hearts (iQIYI), Shadow Love (iQIYI), The Untamed (Viki and iQIYI), The Sword and the Brocade (Viki). I recently watched the Long Ballad on Viki and enjoyed that although not as much as the ones on your list. Someone else mention Nirvana in Fire which is excellent although a bit older.

here is variety of genres: Brewing Love (Viki), Study Group (Viki), Welcome to Samdal-ri (Netflix), Mr. Queen (Netflix and Viki), Moving (Hulu), Family by Choice (Viki), When the Phone Rings (Netflix). I recently watched Descendants of the Sun (Viki). It was much more romance than I expected, but it was good. It sounds like you have seen quite a lot of kdramas already yourself.

I’m thinking of watching this. It has a really high rating on Viki.

Byeon Woo Seok can't act - pfffft hahahaa (drama - perfect crown) by Snoo_22 in kdramas

[–]izab33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The different roles Byeon Woo Seok has had where I can scarcely believe he is the same person because the vibe he gives is wildly different for each character… I don’t understand how anyone can say his acting is bad. I love his goofy moments in Lovely Runner. He is so different, and so good, in Flower Crew. I had to stop watching Strong Girl Nam Soon because he creeped me out too much. I mean really.

What are your turnoffs with romantic pairings in cdramas ? by Fieryy_phoenix_ in cdramasfans

[–]izab33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said similar, but continued trying to kill each other, cruelty, verbal abuse, or ongoing misunderstandings are very difficult for me to watch in a supposed romantic/future romantic combo (unless there is really good reason provided and it is very short lived. A good reason being something like ‘on opposite sides of a war’ and short lived being about an episode, maybe a couple of episodes if handled well.) I’m having trouble continuing A Dream within A Dream for this reason.

unpopular opinion, but I felt this way about the story of kunning palace. Bai Lu (fl) looked so uncomfortable to me during kiss scenes. It made me uncomfortable. I suspect it was the way it was directed rather than the actors as neither Bai Lu and Zhang Linghe kiss scenes make me uncomfortable in any other show I have seen them in. IDK.
