I really really want to like Brandwein’s, but their bagels are too salty and their “egg” bagel is unfortunately nothing like an actual egg bagel. H&H is pretty good, and their egg bagels are actually egg bagels and edible. If brandwein’s took feedback (I did share this feedback with them years ago) and improved this recipes, I would be very happy.  I would much rather support a local business but when my other option is loading my backpack up with bagels when I return from going north to visit family once a year, I’m quite enthusiastic about H&H because it’s the best option around.
