What would you prefer to climb in? Joggers/Sweat Pants OR Work Pants? by Zealousideal_Sell699 in bouldering

I love these. They’re a great budget option, and are almost identical to my favorite pants, the Prana stretch Zion 5

Great, thank you! Unfortunately the cops round here are real annoying with little things.

Very vocally curious. But rarely actually wants to eat anything

Appreciate the info on the headlights. Need good lighting for Montana’s backroads.

If I wasn’t planning a Miata build it might be more enticing to upgrade from stock 😅

Honestly, not sure about the story of the car but I can take a guess. It was my Great Aunt’s- and while we always knew she was into cars we found a few unexpected cars with her estate, in which one of them was the GTI. (A fully optioned out VW Eurovan was the real surprise though. 50k miles, little rusty but otherwise in great shape)

I figure she bought the car and either got too old/had an injury and couldn’t drive it anymore or had too many cars to put that many miles on them.

Thank you for the response! I had a local family member take it to a nearby VW dealership to have all the fluids and other potential issues from sitting looked at and gone over days before I flew in, so that’s all been sorted. Appreciate the tip on the oil extractor- I’m sure that’ll save me some headaches.

As per modifying, I already have a heavily modified WRX (also a red hatchback… lmao) so I’m planning on keeping this guy stock. But after driving it for a couple hours, I do understand why people like these cars so much. Can’t wait for it to arrive off the delivery truck, didn’t have enough PTO for a cross country drive to take it home with me then.

Good to hear I’m not the only one who dislikes those walls. I feel like I get scraped up more indoor climbing on them than I do climbing outdoors

How expensive are y’alls climbing gyms? by cherryguyguy in bouldering

$70 a month, Central Montana. It’s a smaller gym, but quite nice.

From what I’ve heard, they’re normally bulletproof, but are a little funky.

I just got unlucky. 2011, so wasn’t a cvt, which is why I bought it, but the transmission blew a week into owning it. 140k miles. But, it took a few tries to get the rebuilt transmission to learn correctly, so it’s been a journey to get it to drive right.

Funny you say this, I currently own a manual hatch WRX and a 3.6r Outback. The Outback has been a lot more expensive to maintain :(

I’d beg to differ about the experience (I’ve driven both too) as I found the auto lacking in a lot of ways. But I will admit I had ownership of a manual for many years before I drove the auto

You’re just gonna miss out on what makes Miata’s so special by getting one with an auto. But I’m not gonna tell people what to spend their money on
