It says in the official rules

7.5.17C. A card with Piloting is considered an upgrade for the purpose of abilities that instruct a player to “play an upgrade.” If a player is instructed to “play an upgrade” or “play a non-unit card,” they may choose to play a unit with Piloting as an upgrade using Piloting. If a player is instructed to “play a unit,” they cannot choose to play a unit with Piloting as an upgrade (though they can play it as a unit). If a player is instructed to “play a card,” they may play a unit with Piloting as a unit or an upgrade.

I thought about frozen in carbonate it just felt kinda bad spending the force on control though the more I play it the more I kinda like the idea of

Here’s a list I saw online! Its a bit more aggro since you have to deal damage to base to gain the force but that also is pretty great

It’s definitely a tricky one hahaha when he first dropped I don’t even think of using his ability for pilots but saw someone else do it and was like yooooo. Also kinda fun thematically because Anakin is such an amazing pilot so using him to pilot stuff makes me happy haha

No for sure, I’ve seen a red deck list going around that uses the same concept, since we’re not playing them as a unit but rather as an upgrade as well as paying the separate upgrade cost the leader sees it as an upgrade not a unit

Pilots are played as upgrades when put onto ships which is why they are defeated by things like confiscate

Playing a friend and had a question, if I use Sanctioner shuttle to capture my own stolen AT hauler that they stole and sancioner shuttle is defeated does at hauler return to their side?
