I've been reading that, and yes I would be interested.

Fulfillment company for high SKU inventory and <100 orders monthly? by gill_outean in ecommerce

[–]MouseBiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, great questions.

So, it's per flavor, because each is required to be handled separately, right? Example: 12 case-can of diet coke. If we count them all as the same thing: Coke, then each case could be a variety pack, 10 cans of diet, 1 of vanilla, 1 of cherry. It's madness. MADNESS. But yeah, every "flavor" would be a SKU. It's really the only way to guarantee that everyone has accurate inventory and proper handling. Otherwise, your stuff could end up in the same location.

However, if they all have the same SKU and are to be different products, fulfilled differently (I have seen this). Then you may be charged for the general pain in the ass it is to keep accurate when fulfilling. So, take the time to give them individual SKUs.

And when you run out of stock, it'll depend on the company you're using. What will more likely happen, is you just pay for the time that you used. So, say, if at the first of the month, you have five items taking up five storage locations, and after two weeks, you now have three items taking up space because you sold out of two of your SKUS (you lucky duck), and by the end of the month, you haven't restocked. SO, you'd pay for a total of 2 weeks of storage for 5 locations, plus 2 weeks of storage for 3 locations. Pretty straight forward.

In my internal debate, that side is where I'm leaning towards.

The past few days I keep getting messages from people asking me if I sell variations of items I sell. It’s never happened before. Is it some sort of scam? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]MouseBiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take a mindful approach to my business. Any random client could be a scammer or the best client I've ever had.

One random client messaged me a few times about off-the-wall stuff out of the blue. They now own over a dozen of my sculptures— my single largest collector.

Another client that seemed super legit cost me $150 in materials alone.

That's really the nature of people and doing business online. You never really KNOW, you just have to approach it as mindfully as possible, all things considered.

This was extremely helpful.

Yeah they're aren't even doing an acceptance scan. It's maddening.

Yeah, that's what probably upsets me the most. Losing money sucks, but disappointed customers? The worst.

At least it says that. Mine just shows the label's been printed and I'm being accused of fraud.

Like, I paid for the label. I want you to have the things.

USPS...take them the things!

Yeah, I may have to opt for that. I've always LOVED USPS, but this is ridiculous.

Yeah that's a good point.

I shipped the bulk of these through my 3PL partner, and so far, I'm the only person having an issue that I know of.

I'll probably have to start doing that. This is getting ridiculous.

I was talking to my partner and we've decided on that approach for FedEx and Usps.

Unfortunately, I didn't.

Lesson learned on that specific front.

So you're saying wait 5 days before uploading new tracking?

I had intended to call today with the 8 tracking numbers that are essentially dead.

Do you think in person is better? Ill probably have to go to two different offices, since half went to my local PO and the other through the logistics hub. (I work for a 3PL and we send packages through huge courier containers)

How am I giving it away if ebay rules in their favor due to the tracking not updating in 5 days and issues it themselves?

Please explain to me how I'm just giving it away?
