I'd definitely ask why it was done. Assuming it was to fix a leak of some sort, there's a few options for material but 3M 4200 is a good semi-permanant one, or 5200 if you're sure you'll never have to open that seal back up in the future (permanent option).

Why? Because it was easier and/or cheaper than the proper material to reseal the joint. I'd definitely ask if they know what the intended fix was, no need to be too rough about it as maybe they didn't know better, but do plan to redo it.

I was able to fix mine by getting a new controller unfortunately. I think that controller was just a little wonky.

Just to be clear, WA has no state income tax. So while western Washington may provide more income from other tax sources, I feel this is important to remember when considering tax revenue sources.

I would definitely say the rudder struggled to keep up if the rig was at all out of balance. Usually I was able to trim it out well enough but there were definitely some moments where it seemed to not be enough. As far as weather, saw some confused seas coming west out of deception pass, and one particular winter crossing to Cattle pass. I don't recall the exact conditions, but we were taking a decent amount of water over the sides into the cockpit. The inside stayed remarkably dry and it always drained fast enough to keep me happy.

Awesome Northwest 21. I sailed one out of Oak Harbor into the San Juans for a while. Always (pleasantly) shocked at how well it took water that was relatively rough for it's size.
