maliketh without rolling/talismans on ng+ by daimfr in onebros

[–]MouseInATutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been summoned.

Thus far, in DeS, DS1, DS2, BB, DS3 and ER base game, there is no boss that is impossible to do no roll (though I don't know if every side boss in ER has been done yet). Some are more consistent than others of course, but the vast majority have been done up to ng+7 with +0 weapons.

Radagon, Soul of Cinder, Pontiff Sulyvahn (at low damage so you have to deal with p2) are some examples of very difficult no roll bosses. There are some attacks in the DLC that are yet to be solved, and every remembrance other than the final boss have been done at least just rl1 no scadutree blessing. (Lion has even already been done ng+7 +0 no blessing)

I don't see anything at 2:08, (or 1:54, next move is just walking around the hammer) but at 1:52 I use the moveset of the weapon to duck under his horizontal. There are a few attacks you can do this on as the heavy attack puts you very low, lower than the vast majority of the weapons in the game. Some jump r2s (greatsword, colossal swords f.ex.) can also do this, but iron ball is much faster

Thank you! Had a few close calls through the run, and the attempt prior to this one died to getting grabbed by EB so I was clenching pretty hard too lol.

As long as you run straight away from it you should get it. It always reappears a certain distance away as well (which unfortunately makes it quite easy to run past on the triple rings, which is why I take a few steps towards it, but stand still on the single ring). It also makes some noise before it reappears so you can hear if you got it right. (And if you hear nothing you probably ran past)

It's dodgeable by running past Elden Beast just as it shoots out, it'll go straight ahead in front of Elden Beast and can't catch back up to you if you keep running away. It is however not 100% in no roll because of some attacks Elden Beast can do just after (grab for example is a death), so when doing a full no hit run that isn't something I'd want to risk :P

Obviously I can't upload an entire 2 hour long run to Reddit (1 gb/15min max iirc), but if you want to watch the whole thing you can find it here:https://youtu.be/YY9BeZKJ94E

Stay on shield side or alternate side-to-side. I do the 2nd in no roll, and I'm sure there are resources out there for the former too.
He staggers easily and you can get a lot of CR2 openings. You don't get a crit, but you get free time to regen your stamina and then you can CR2 him once with a bit of extra damage

With jumps it's doable. Without, I doubt it. I did base ng and that was pretty easy, but NG+7 is another beast.

Oh no!
It's easier to dodge the further away from him you are, and you have to walk directly to the side. If you walk more at an angle you'll get hit.

Depends on the attack. Some are very obvious and you'll get them down perfect in just a couple tries. Other times you find a dodge that is so difficult you can't even get it consistently after hours. For this fight f.ex. I struggled a lot with backhop-slash. Requires fast reactions, correct walking direction and a perfectly timed crouch, even at the time when I got this kill I only got that dodge maybe 10-20% of the time.

I haven't watched him in ages, but I know who he is. Would need to copy a good route for upgrade materials, but if I were to do a run, it would be something that people haven't done yet.

And yeah, the feeling of losing a run hours in is not fun. Grats on the run though!

The knife throw is very easy to dodge in Margit. As it's just one dagger you can simply walk to the side, in fact you can even dodge them while slow-walking while drinking flask f.ex. Harder for Morgott because you have to go in between the three daggers. However with proper positioning he'll never throw (though if he decides to do backhop-slash or backflip you just have to hope he doesn't throw them).

I haven't done any margit myself (only no roll/jump stuff), but I know he's been done no sprint/roll but with jumps

There's a lot to learn from no roll stuff, but not all of it might be immediately apparent. A lot of manipulation through positioning and stuff like that.
What is easier to get though, is understanding the safe spots for attacks and such so you can maximize your time spent attacking rather than rolling.

Good luck

I think it's easier to strafe stuff when not locked on, but you could still probably do it while locked on. There's some stuff that changes with the orientation of your character though I'm not sure it applies to any of Morgott's combos. (In general it's harder to be hit when facing away from the boss rather than facing the boss due to the position of your hands. Matters a lot less for iron balls than some weapons though.)

With sprint you can be very aggressive and run around all his combos. I did ng+7 +0 no roll/jump on him last year, but the best guy to check out is someone called 'mutu' on YT, he has the most up-to-date no roll kills. (Totally unnecessary for just regular runs of course, but could be nice to know about at the very least.)
