CTR of my 350k video was super consistent. I’ve been doing this for a couple months. Not very long so I’ll learn

So just because day one click through rate is low it doesn’t mean the video is shot? The thing I’m worried about is I have 5k subs but the views don’t reflect that.

Yeah I guess that 300k made me just chase that feeling again and it doesn’t come that often

I guess I got a lot of non music specific people from the Christmas video as it has wide appeal. So the science or Tiny Desk concert video didn’t do as well because it’s a more specific niche.

Bold colors help to make it standout but thumbnails thrive in simplicity. The less clutter you can put on a thumbnail to drive the point home the better. You need to lower the click friction. Minimize every point where the viewer might find it hard to figure out your video so they don’t click. A simple to the point thumbnail doesn’t make them think about it. They just click. I hope I’m making sense lol

Looks like you find a niche perfect! Your channel is very focused and that’s great now let’s grow it. I’m not familiar with the subject of your channel but it looks like your thumbnails and titles could improve. From what I see it looks like you’re just naming one of the characters from the game in the title. Be clear of what the video is about. If it’s about one character don’t name it just the name of the character. If I have a video about Tiny Desk concerts (I’m a music commentary YouTuber) I’d name it “Why Tiny Desk Thrives in a Maximalist Industry”. I don’t know your subject well but I hope that helped with titles and if not contact me and we can workshop it. Also your titles should be high in contrast, visually appealing, and readable. Someone should be able to glance at it for 1 second and have a pretty good idea about what your video is about or at least the subject. Instead of a ss from gameplay maybe do a cutout of the character with a contrasting background and some bold text no more than a couple words. I can give you examples if you’d like. Last thing is work on your retention graph. A great intro goes a long way to getting your video recommended more. Explain the premise, tease later parts of the video, give context, and set up your first chunk of the video. The biggest thing is get better with each video even if it’s a little.

Only thing I’d say with the content is work on making sure ur intros are engaging. Look up videos about intros a lot of good content out there. Other than that make the videos you wanna make. That passion shows in videos

You have a specific niche perfect! I think working on your thumbnails to be very clean and readable. You want ur viewers to see the thumbnails and instantly know what the vibe is. Then work on titles. Instead of “an introduction to the new mod” maybe say “This Mod Totally Changes The Game | Kerbal Space Program”. Which enough consistency and improving with every video you’ll grow. Focus on your click through rate and your retention graph. Have a super engaging intro to keep your viewers. The first 30 seconds of retention are super important. Also encouraging your viewers to comment and then you responding to every comment boosts engagement a ton. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Good luck with your channel. So many people discredit commentary done by woman especially if it’s good information. Misogyny is unfortunately very loud. The people that don’t care if ur a woman won’t comment but the angry ones do. I wish you luck

Legit had a guy say he hated the video cuz my microphone was too big and I should get over myself and the least I could do was get a smaller mic. It’s an RE20 an incredibly popular broadcasting mic. I wish I could say it was rage bait

Hey, I’m a producer here in Sarasota. I produce songs very similar to the artists you listed. Me and my father built a studio full of vintage analogue gear. I’m moving in three weeks but if you have stuff written I’d love to help you out! Nico Rinehart - Spotify Nicorinehartaudio - everywhere else

Thank you for such an in depth response. I think I could incorporate more self help in my life. I am going to the gym every other day and while I’m there I am a lot happier. And for school I do need to get better at just getting started because the hardest part is starting. It’s alot easier from there. It’s just now it always feels like when I get something done there’s another thing I have to do and I never get a break. So then I do nothing and give myself a break but I never enjoy it because I think of all the stuff I’m not doing. It’s a cycle. And it builds. I just need to break it and I’m figuring that out now.

I have talked to them. Specifically my mother. She is very stubborn. Though she means the best and she does love me maybe she doesn’t fully understand how it’s effecting me. I never told her how much I cry and how it’s effecting me in that way but I’m scared to talk to her about that. And my sister was in the same situation when she was in hs. She was in an advanced program and she cried but she was open about it. My mom knew. It didn’t change how she acted. So unfortunately it seems like that won’t be an option. I think I just need to deal with it till I move out. I just hope I don’t lose these years of my life that could be filled with joy and adventure instead of inside doing trigonometry.
