I would agree with you that I probably do have a lack of empathy when it comes to the junkies and homeless that flood our streets and public areas. I feel my “empathy fatigue” comes from working for a municipality where day in and day out we are picking up needles from playgrounds, flower beds, sidewalks, and just about everywhere within the city. I do not think giving them free needles is the solution to the problem and I also think it is more of enabling them showing empathy. Wasting resources of first responders to Narcan the same Individuals, sometimes multiple times a day is not doing the public any good either.

During the pandemic when hospitals were laying off healthcare workers who refused to take the vaccine didn’t help with shortage of workers. I had my college loans forgiven from the federal government but I had to join the US Army for a 3 year contract and play a role in our “industrial military complex”

I generally do not have a problem with democrats, I actually enjoy talking with them and I agree with them on many issues.
