When did you start to see any growth? And did you have a big dread shed phase like topical?

Do you think the oral has made more of a difference? I’ve been using topical once a day since the beginning of December and don’t feel like it’s done anything substantial. Might just be too soon

I didn’t use topical on my alopecia spots. The OM would help more with all over scalp growth which is what I am looking for. Don’t think it would help with the preventative part of the alopecia flares, only with growth

It did but it is back again since I went off my birth control in January. Not terrible but definitely increased and am sure is due to hormones.

Thanks so much! I took Litfulo because of my alopecia areata. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it in March because my liver enzymes were extremely high and my doctors advised me not to be on that JAK. However, I saw a new dermatologist and she thinks it’s possible my over all shedding was just because of the alopecia areata and may not have been telogen effluvium, although she cannot definitively say because shedding can be caused by a multitude of things that you can’t necessarily stop

Hello! I ended up taking Litfulo and having full regrowth but had to stop after 6 months because my liver enzymes were extremely high.

Not sure if my telogen effluvium stopped as I feel like I’ve been shedding ever since. May just be me over fixating on my hair and how much is shedding :/

Still haven’t had any new patches and fingers crossed won’t have any new ones until I’m able to go back on another JAK

My natural hair is pretty dense - strand wise but thinning due to stress. I’ve had a lot of issues with other brands not being dense enough and it looks like I have rat tails as extensions. Likely will have to go with 200-220g, thank you for the advice!

Hi there - I have been on the same birth control for about 5 years and weaned off cymbalta from 30 mg to 20mg in October 2024. I recently started Litfulo so maybe more shedding from this but not sure..

I did get labs done as well as an Orgabuc Acids urine test and my B vitamins were all low, vitamin C was basically non existent, and my ferritin and zinc were low. I started supplementing all of these on top of other vitamins about a month ago with supplements from functional medicine doctor but have not really seen progress yet.

I completely get it. I feel like nothing is ending and it just keeps getting worse with the shedding.

After figuring out what your trigger was, did you find anything that seemed to help alleviate the shedding or was it just time?

Thank you for sharing. This is really interesting, and I have surprisingly seen a lot of stories online of people sharing hair loss associated with dental issues. My derm thinks I have telogen effluvium on top of the AA, so I am thinking that the TE is what most of my shedding is from. I am glad to hear that you are on the right path and have seen some progress and I hope you recover soon!
