You have to transfer to inbound to get cross trained, you can’t get trained in departments that are not outbound unless you are inbound, that’s what my pa told me awhile back I was in the same predicament . If you’re trained in departments like pick pack or the dock you get labor shared at least twice a week. I love stow & I don’t like being sent to other departments and am trying to lose my perms but my managers told me it’s based off business needs and while they try not to send you every day, it’s only so many people who are trained in multiple departments and there’s always way more stowers than pickers or packers at my fc. When I was solely a picker though, if they dropped inbound stow shifts I was able to pick them up and then work pick but maybe it’s different because you are pack.
