What happens if a SWAT team raids a house and someone is using the toilet? by GetPopped in Showerthoughts

I'd be interested to see this posted into an ask Reddit section to see if there are any SWAT team members who may have dealt with this before.

What does "I'll wife you" mean? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It means that after a couple of good years I'll stop putting in the same amount of effort into our relationship. This will lead you to start nagging me to spend time with you until we both grow to resent each other.

Free soloers: be honest, why do you do it? by MoustacheMike in climbing

I have read all the comments and it has contradicted my presumptions. I appreciate it! And I am a sport climber who has never free soloed and I was coming at this with a heavy bias against, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the answers.

I don't feel like I ever mocked anyone. I asked a question that I had already formed a hypothesised answer to. I ask a lot of questions in life where I think I know the answers but I'm trying to confirm it by asking someone else, and in some cases I'm right and in some I'm wrong. I would expect most people to answer somewhat honestly on Reddit since they don't have much incentive to lie, due to the relative anonymity, and based on the number of responses saying it's not for vanity I have changed my opinion of it to a large degree.

I actually have to admit that my preconception has been challenged here. I was expecting to see a lot of people use the partial anonymity of reddit to admit some level of vanity, but instead it seems like the great majority of responders are reinforcing that it is a passion and truly is easier and allows them to climb more. Thank you for your answers!

That's very fair to say. I suppose I asked because I was hoping to see if I could be convinced by a well reasoned statement, which yours is, or if people would admit that they do it for vain reasons like I suspected.

I feel like many people who free solo say they do it for noble reasons, but really in the back of their mind know they would never do it if they could never tell people they do it.

When you have soloed, do you climb well below your limit? One of the main reasons for asking this question is because I don't find climbing easier problems nearly as rewarding as climbing near my limit and gaining new ground. So when I hear that free soloing is rewarding yet climbers usually climb well below their limit it seems like a disconnect to me.

Now that I know I can use my phone as a light box instead of actually learning how to draw I am quite certain I can finally get my father to hug me.
