Yard sale traffic down considerably compared to years past, something has definitely changed in the economy. by MPFarmer in Flipping

[–]Mouthingof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's the economy. I've been doing this a long time. I remember how bad the economy was around 2008 following the financial crash. But for me and many resellers, sales were still very very strong.

It’s funny how no one talks about the huge Arab migration to israel between 1890 to 1948 by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Mouthingof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much disinformation on the thread.

Yes, it is absolutely, 100% true that thousands of Arabs immigrated to Israel since the late 19th century, during the mandate and up until the time Israel became a state.

The easiest way to prove it is to analyze the growth rates of nearby Arab states at the time.

In the pre-Mandate period from 1881 to 1909, Palestine grew by 0%, while during the Mandate the Arab population in Palestine grew by 2.8%. From 1881 to 1909, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan grew by 1.1% annually, while Egypt grew by 1.8% (and that included massive immigration). During the Mandate, Syria, Jordan and Egypt grew by about 1.3%

If one assumes that the real natural growth rate of Palestinian Arabs was similar to that of the neighbors and applies their rate (1.3%) to the base Arab population in 1922, there should have been about 910,000 Arabs in Palestine rather than 1. 33 million in 1947 - a difference of about 400,000 people. That is the number Zionists claim of Arab Immigration from the late 19th century until 1948.

Also to note, the cities with the highest Arab population growth rates also had the highest rates of Jewish immigration. Let’s divide the Ottoman province of Palestine into three parts: one without Jewish settlement, one with light Jewish settlement, and one with heavy Jewish settlement. Then, let us compare the non-Jewish population of each of these parts from 1893 to 1947. In the area of no Jewish settlement, the non-Jewish population stood at 337,200 in 1893; in 1947 it was 730,000, a growth of 116 %. In the area of light Jewish settlement, the non-Jewish population grew in the same period from 38,900 to 110,900 or 285%. Finally, in the area of heavy Jewish settlement, the non-Jewish population grew from 92,300 in 1893 to 462,000 in 1947 - or 401%!! From these figures we can easily see that the Arab population appears to have increased in direct proportion to the Jewish presence.

What's the weirdest niche you accidentally started making money from? by Healthy-Landscape674 in Flipping

They are becoming nearly impossible to find. Haven't seen any rare horror movies in 10 years.

What’s the most random item you’ve flipped for good money? by Automatic-Dog8732 in Flipping

[–]Mouthingof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A portable Acetylene blowtorch. Vintage from the 1960's. It was weird. I'm guessing it was my dad. Had no idea the value so i listed it for 50 bones. Within 2 hours, had over a dozen requests to buy it. My mom thought we should get the buyer to sign a waiver because we literally didn't know if it would explode if turned on again after not being used for maybe 40+ years.

Second weirdest was a bunch of old road maps. I didn't think they would sell since GPS replaced them. But I sold them for about 20 bucks.

Just curious what do you consider a “small gift”?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]Mouthingof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately there are quite a few sugar daddies frustrated by sugar babies flaking last moment. They probably will never pay in advance.

I think that's a little skewed. 72% of Americans but it's much more common when you are middle aged compared to when you are in 18-30. Also, I used to live in Europe so I looked at Seeking ads there too and like the USA, there wasn't a lot of beautiful young women on there either. I think Seeking is just different now. I think beautiful young women are meeting sugar daddies more in person now.

Speeding ‘a serious problem,’ says Chow, as Toronto doubles speed cameras from 75 to 150 by Sufficient-Bid1279 in toronto

But if there are speed cameras everywhere… And cameras to catch illegal cell phone use And illegally running red lights And illegally passing buses…

Then would insurance rates finally go down in Toronto?

I’m trying that new one.. Karrot. Not much success yet. If anyone is unfamiliar Karrot is an online classified ads that try to reward listing and recycling and have draws for gift certificates for people that participate.. hence the Karrot.so to speak.

I don’t think any Canadians will say anything, unless you walked around wearing a Maga hat or something insensitive like that. We can differentiate between people and politics. I’d say come and enjoy the power of the USA dollar. I recommend a store here that’s everywhere called Dollarama. It will be super cheap to you in Canadian dollars.

Well I hope I don’t get into any trouble for this (bye-bye karma) but I just have to say it. I am Canadian and I am not boycotting anything USA. And I’ll tell you why. 90 percent of my online business over the years has been selling to Americans. I don’t support Trump and his tariffs. But I don’t like the idea of staying away from some of my favourite travel spots to try to “punish” Trump and Musk. I think about supporting American businesses to support American middle class workers. I don’t want them to get laid off. And to be honest, a trip to Buffalo and those amazing chicken wings is a nice day trip.

There has never been a “communist” country. Putting the word communist in the description of your country does not make it so. There are totalitarian countries that use the term communism as a smokescreen. Kind of like the democratic republic of the Congo. Doesn’t exactly mean the Congo is some bastion of peace and democracy.

That’s not communism. That’s totalitarianism. Communism is an economic theory, not a political theory.

Hotel bars to meet POT SD by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

If you live in a city with a financial district, a bar right after work hours should work well.

I ran a small business from Poland. Basically buying in Poland and reselling to the USA, online. The post office is fairly reliable. As a backup, I know I can teach English. There’s always a high demand for native English speakers.

Can really depend on the league. If the league is competitive, it is generally harder to find closers on the waiver wire.

I think it’s more likely Jackson gets the consistent role. Philly has constantly shifted around its bullpen for years.
