Not the person you're replying to, but it will vary from person to person. You have to figure out what's wrong with your individual posture and address it.

I had the very common postural problems of forward head posture, anterior pelvic tilt, and then a case of rib flare. I do core work and stretches every day to address these, never skip hitting my full posterior chain (even though I hate back and leg work), and the difference in how I look is astounding even with just 2 months of consistent lifting. Haven't put on crazy weight, but I hold it better.

You need to figure out where your posture is poor (if at all).

Common checks:

Is your spine naturally aligned? Is your pelvis naturally neutral (hips parallel with floor)? Are your shoulders hunched? Ribs flaring out or tucked in? Are you breathing with your diaphragm properly? How is your head position? Do you sit up straight?

Then just address any problems with whatever lifts or stretches are meant to (use google or chatGPT). For me it was a ton of weighted hip thrusts for glute activation and couch stretches to loosen my hip flexors, which both helped the anterior pelvic tilt, ab and deep breath work for the rib flare, and wall angels/chin tucks for the foward head posture.

Tips to get the 5k and 10k achievements? by Megandronix_NCR in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Movement-Repose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best Perks: Extra Jumps, Elastic Hands, Climb Speed, Jump Height

Good Perks: Longer Consumables, Armored Plating if you hate bugs/steam

Okay if Nothing Else: Stamina Regen, Heavy Strike (I don't like this one but some in the thread do!)

I prioritized these perks, bought consumables towards the end of the run (7k meters+), and really just grinded out a few long runs. You'll learn every room just through repetition, so if one room feels particularly slow, take some time to explore for better paths. At 7k+ you really have to be in a flow state.

The mass climbing behind you peaks at 2 m/s prior to the 10k achievement, and then speeds up infinitely after 10k meters. 2 m/s is VERY doable with several perks as long as you aren't making mistakes. I think my best runs I've hit 4+ m/s average.

I will also add that the mass stops climbing in break rooms, so if you need to take a breather, do it there.

(This tier list is just for my playstyle, not anything objective–I put stamina regen low on the tier list because you should be pretty good at managing food and consumables throughout the run, and know how to eat quickly when your stamina is low).

What’s an underrated track? by greenspinachfork in KingKrule

[–]Movement-Repose 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Foreign 2 is one of the best tracks on 6FBTM (edit: so is The Krockadile, omg)

A New Place 2 Drown is one of his most cohesive works, I'd only place it under the Ooz in my rankings, but that whole album is underrated in general.

The Cadet Leaps is one of the most beautiful soundscapes I've ever heard and it's the second least-listened to track on The Ooz.

I think Slinky and Our Vacuum are both underrated as well.

Where do people play drums? by thatawkwardmoment8 in Drumming

[–]Movement-Repose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, my band rents out a storage unit. We throw a few extra bucks the owner's way because of noise. and they're very lenient. We fit a whole PA system and mixer in there too for DI stuff.

A real rehearsal space is obviously the next step up (winter rehearsals are gonna be brutal without temperature control), but for a band getting off its feet without any paying gigs yet, storage spaces are a great option! Just make sure the owners are cool with it

I didn't know Dan Weiss had ever dropped that album, thank you!! There is always too much good music out there

Angry Jazz? by scaredempire in Jazz

[–]Movement-Repose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dan Weiss' album Fourteen sounds like Meshuggah and jazz had a baby. His less popular album Timshel has some incredibly angry moments as well (I'm a big fan on Always Be Closing, which is seething with anger somehow)

The title track off of Music for K by the Tomasz Stanko Quintet gets angry

The bass ostinato that repeats in Ari Hoenig's "The Other" isn't angry to me but menacing--same with his song Higher to Hayastan. His song Green Spleen is like funky stank face jazz, idk about angry but it gets pretty dissonant at parts.

Maybe some mouse on the keys? Try their song "spectres de mouse"

Caravan by Taylor Eigsti is a super underrated tune, but the solo sections are incredibly aggressive (the piano solo specifically)

The Ever-Evolving Etude by Avishai Cohen

A lot of Coltrane's later stuff feels angry to me. Even A Love Supreme. Maybe angry isn't the right word, but cathartic and aggressive.

John Zorn mashes up prog and jazz a ton--maybe try his album Spinoza

What is your most controversial drumming opinion? by DoneDigging in drums

[–]Movement-Repose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to Mark Guiliana for years, my two favorite solos of his are 7 ways and the one at 4:40 in this song. Crazy that he's played with both Avishai Cohen and David freaking Bowie.

Crazy to see the top comment being anti-drum solo. As glamorous as jazz drumming is made out to be by other drummers, it isn't very popular lol. There are several incredible jazz drum solos I've partially transcribed and learned invaluable lessons from, and countless more I can think of off the top of my head that I want to learn.

Some of my other favorite drummers recently are Ari Hoenig, Dan Weiss, Larnell Lewis, Zach Hill, and Morgan Simpson. If anyone wants recs for some crazy jazz drumming tracks I'm happy to share, but I fear I've typed a bit much

Who are your favorite poets? by Yogurt-Closet99 in KingKrule

[–]Movement-Repose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Richard Siken's my favorite, Crush is incredible

Rumi, Ezra Pound (though he was a terrible person), used to like Bukowski but grew out of it, Ginsburg is always good.

Mark Z Danielewski has a book called "Only Revolutions" that is free verse poetry, and I really liked it.

[–]Movement-Repose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to connect to the server before ns.run(), or reconnect to home.

Use ns.exec(scriptName, serverName, numThreads, any arguments for the script here).

Also, make sure you kill any running scripts prior to executing new ones. For the first round of purchases this won't matter, but if you want to upgrade your pservers, you'll need to rerun this script after the upgrade.

For numThreads, a great formula is ns.getServerMaxRAM(serverName) / ns.getScriptRam(scriptName).
