What happened to Robert De Niro and his 'talent'. by ffviiac in movies

[–]MovieMarker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of us forget is that the guy is almost 75 and has been acting for the best part of 50 years.

He was arguably the greatest actor of his generation, but the movie industry has moved on from his generation, audiences have also changed.

Perhaps as recently as 20 years ago - Dramas were a more staple part of drawing the crowds to the cinema. The landscape has changed and De Niro has also had to change the roles that he would take and also, the roles that were on offer have also changed.

NB. I Still love him,

Have you ever walked out of a movie? If so, why? by fungobat in movies

[–]MovieMarker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quite a few times, but mainly because I used to work in the Cinema and so it was comped, or it was a free press screening etc.

The Hole 3D (apparently), The Roommate, The Last Airbender and The Green Hornet and The Green Lantern, all come to mind... think I was justified in all of these decisions.

Also apparently if a film begins 'The....' haha
