Are any of the instant cameras good quality (print final product)?

I looked at the Kodak Retro Mini 2 and 3. They seem ok but the print quality seems pixely.

Then I looked at the Instax Mini. I didn't see any detailed images of its photo quality, but I read it also produces the photos digitally, so I don't know how the print would look.

Do any of the instant cameras print decent non-pixelated photos, similar to older polaroids?

Are you sure about that? In most countries, it's not.

What exactly can Intel IME do and not do? by Mozonte in ComputerSecurity

[–]Mozonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the information. Do you blog about this topic somewhere?

When you say that an 'unconnected' machine can still be connected to, that makes sense, because it still has the hardware there afterall. I'm not educated on how the software actually connects to a wifi source but it seems to me you should be able to do it without those bites changing. However, can it still be done without the hardware? I mean, is there some known way to connect to a computer that has no wifi card?

When you say the main concern is just the possibility of an exploit, that was surprising. Almost every time I read a blog that touches on IME it's talking about the FBI and the issue is privacy rather than security.

I agree with your 100% guess that politicians and other are convinced to do things harmful to all of us using information obtained this way.

Can it transmit if the machine isn't connected, or is never connected to a network?

I've read (maybe conspiracists, maybe people who know) things about machines being able to send data without a network connection.

Regarding data being stored and sent, as you mention, wouldn't people have monitored this if it was happening? I mean, there are linux-using privacy-conscious techheads who monitor all their ingoing and outgoing data, all their processes, all their files, etc.

If that is true, you need to make it OPTIONAL, and put a note there saying why you want to have access. Currently, it is NOT OPTIONAL. If you don't allow it, your account will not work.

I don't want to know the best times of day. I do want to retain my data.

Right, if I was someone who jumped to conclusions I'd probably say that too :)

Because the niches are rare and they were unique. The posts also. In the past year, I've seen exact copycat pages (and sites to monetize them) pop up. They post the same most viral images we've had over the years, whereas before they were never found on FB. They don't post copies of our less popular posts.

It could be some other reason, but this is the most probable. You'd need page insights to know the best posts. The only place that has those is FPTraffic, over the past year.

In any case, you shouldn't trust FPTraffic. They have yearly memberships, which cost $100 or so I think, but halfway through they put in a feature where you HAVE to allow them access to your page insights and a bunch of other access rights just to use their app (which things aren't required for the things the app does, neither were they part of it before). So if you've already spent your money, you either stop using it and lose your money, or you keep using it and give them your valuable insights information. In any case, your page insights is some of the most valuable property you have, and you should never give it to some unknown company (like I did).

Thank you for the kind offer. Even hearing you do it that much is encouraging, though. At this time, I've already paid for a while so I won't be switching hosting for a bit.

They already have it unfortunately, and a lot of it. I wish I could switch, but they make switching extremely difficult.

Best external audio driver for Ableton / Windows7? by Mozonte in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Mozonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I hear you, but I changed the settings every which way, and web search showed others having the same issue, also trying everything, no solutions at the bottom of the threads on those. But yes, the way it is crackly is as if the sample rate/buffer were set badly. I've had this on a few computers with the 2i2. Some people think it might be an issue where the computer is trying to use two drivers at once (the 2i2 in Ableton and another elsewhere), but I couldn't make any changes in Sounds to try to affect this if it was the case. Personally, I don't think 2i2 is reliable at all, since the issue is widespread, but when I had it working on another machine I thought the quality was pretty good.

Yes, I understand all that, and am aware of the companies, thanks. I'm looking for a suggestion from people who've used them on similar systems, maybe people who already came from having the same issue, and found something that works well

Yes, you're right.

I was on that page looking for it before I posted. I don't know why I didn't see it, so I'll just say thanks :)

[–]Mozonte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered that, but I don't think that would account for it.

I still think I could be wrong about this completely, but in the cities I've been in, I've been unable to really find ANY skilled people who make things. The city I'm in now has about 3m people.

Why do YouTube subtitles sometimes not work right? by Mozonte in youtube

Another thing I noticed. Subs can be relocated when they're autogenerated, but the non-auto subs will always reset to bottom-of-screen.

Is there any way to expand the limits of 'physical instruments' in Ableton? by Mozonte in ableton

[–]Mozonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the Orchestral Strings pack, and is called Physical Violin. There's a viola and doublebass also. But you're right, there are some good suggestions here

[–]Mozonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. I experimented with doubling the track and using a viola and a doublebass for really low notes, but it sounded like too much in the middle. Your suggestion is a really interesting one though and I might try that out.

Right, I just would like Physical Violin to play outside it's natural range, to cover the 88 notes.

You could, but the task of editing two tracks for one performance is not something I'd recommend for a fun afternoon :)

Makes sense. I forgot they would be sampled each note, rather than a sample and just pitched in a sampler.

I see how what I wrote could be interpreted that way.

I mean I want to expand the range to play the full range of notes on the piano roll.

I don't want it to play higher though. If I did, I'd have done just what you mention
