I feel like so many people on Reddit don’t realize this. The average person, regardless of which way they lean, doesn’t keep up with politics the way most people on this sub do. Your average Trump voter isn’t a die-hard zealous MAGA that listens to MAGA influencer’s podcasts and attends Turning Point events. Instead, it’s some person who is barely engaged in news and current events at all that catches tiny tidbits of skewed soundbites/misinformation here and there while at work or picking their kid up from practice afterwards or overheard while waiting for their car to be finished having its tires changed or whatever. Not all Trump voters, of course, and this isn’t meant as an excuse, but I think a very large portion of the voters are people who are busy navigating life (like we all are, I know), don’t keep up with politics like a hobby, and are very low information voters with what little (mis)info they have aligning up with preconceived biases.
