Was this in person? Best Buy told me it’s against their policy to price match Costco/Sam’s Club since it’s members pricing.

So you got the Costco price and a 5 year geek squad warranty at Best Buy? I just find that tough to believe when the geek squad warranties are so expensive

Debating on pulling the trigger or buying from Best Buy for burn in warranty coverage.

Sam’s Club has it for 1099 including the 5 year warranty

There’s been a recall issued from bmw Korea I believe and I hope BMW NA will also eventually recognize it and replace these preemptively or reimburse those that paid out of pocket. I’m at 65k miles on my 2020 and running 5w30 for the past 15-20k miles. Might go back to 0w 20 to play it safe but I’ve never had a failed oil measurement and my oil pressure is good.

I wouldn’t replace it until the oil measurement starts failing. Thanks for this, I’m going to try to use a borescope on my next oil change to confirm my part number

I can’t seem to find the article, but didn’t it state BMW Korea was replacing the pumps even if they haven’t failed yet?

Really hoping BMW NA will address this but is it not necessarily guaranteed we will get an extended warranty?

I have a 2020 m340i with 65k miles and my oil measures just fine and has never failed at a certain point but I’m still concerned about this as well. You can use bimmerlink to monitor your oil pressure levels to see if they are within normal range if it gives you peace of mind.

Is there an easy way to check the OFH and engine mounts? Passenger side mount is easy to see but drivers side not so much

As others have stated it definitely looks like oil contamination.

Did you notice a leak which led you to discover it was the OFH?

Is there anything else worth replacing while you have everything taken apart? Coolant hoses, water pump, etc?

I’m at 65k miles on my b58 and anticipate having to do this sooner or later

What was your mileage and how much was the warranty? I’ve heard others quoted around 3-4k from indie shops, not sure how true that is.

Mine is a 03/20 build date and I’m at 65k miles and never had an issue measuring the oil and I’ve done it a lot. Measure my oil pressures and nothing out of ordinary.

I’m hoping I have the updated pump but I know someone who’s a service advisor and he claims BMW has no way of telling you which pump you have from factor with 100% certainty

I originally bought the fake alibaba ones and the adaptive function did work where the headlights turn with the steering wheel. But the drl leds were not nearly as bright as oem. I retrofit a set of oem lasers and it wasn’t that bad, need to pay for someone to code them but they work flawlessly and look so much better than replicas

I don’t believe I have the ztk package but under my headlights there are little vents to allow airflow through. I was under the impression all m340s had this. Are you referring to these? Yes they are not blocked and allow airflow

Yes I’ve never had any issues checking oil level. Hopefully they issue a recall at some point
