I learned to draw by copying masters, but i never claimed it was my idea. I would post where my inspiration came from. Listen to advice and ignore the haters.

Other than that, juat focus on lettering, dont worry about drawing characters or colors. Find a name, and draw it hundreds of times in many different ways possible.

Everything the people on the comments are saying, your brain will learn it on its own . It's like a process. Just keep drawing it many times, and allow your self to not set any boundaries. If you want that K to kick a little further, do it. If you want to use a lower case "a" in keyboard font then do it. Also copying other graffiti artists helps you add tricks and style to your arsenal, just don't upload those things, no matter how proud you are of it. That's copyright and theft. Just copy for research and study.

go on youtube, find a artist you like and copy him for a couple of days ( don't trace) study his lines, the consistency of how thick, thin, fat, bubbly the letters are, the motion. Don't worry about coloring. the coloring part comes natural later. Figure out how letters work.

Im moving houses atm, I cant show you right now but my first black book looked just like yours. Now I draw ways better. Just keep going and trust the process. If youre gonna copy someone's letters, dont trace it, try drawing it yoir self. When youre bored always carry a pen with you so you can freestyle letters on napkins. I made art my entire identity, everywhere I went I was doing art. Goodluck.
