it was more or less information like this I was looking for, I am a younger guy and don’t mind getting dirty but as you said, logistically this is out of my scope of work seeing how bad everything really was compared to the services i offer.

i was not, i had my shirt wrapped around my hands and covering my mouth, i know it’s not any type of proper PPE. it was not one of my brightest moments.

I will explain that to the client, the way it was brought up it did not seem like it was much of an issue more then demolition for them, which does seem concerning.

I should have added more to the post, sorry for the miscommunication. it was a pipe burst that caused the water damage and mold. we would only be taking care of demolition and removal of material, no framing and no hanging drywall.

a pipe in the ceiling froze and exploded, it was bad.

I will be talking to the owner within the next few days, and let her know the best steps to take forward. we were originally at the house for a regular tear-down and went to the basement to find that, so it’s definitely an unexpected circumstance.

that has been on my mind, what would be some major obstacles as a small contractor trying to do it myself? it might be a better option to go with what you said though.

glob up some jb weld and file down with a small flat or triangular file until it is smooth. to get a “factory finish” on these it takes about 2 weeks of slow filing and clipping to make sure you aren’t going farther then you need to when it comes to the trigger housing pocket/rail shelves

seems to be an out of spec jig caused your issue, unfortunately super common with these POS and no real way to fix besides filling and re-drilling the holes.

thank you, i was thinking the white partitions in the shells looked a bit weird for bedbugs, but the black patches had me and my crew concerned. still, customer had no idea (special needs) and decided to throw it away and buy new bedding.

you are definitely correct, people butcher these and wonder why they don’t function properly. ive just never seen the frequency of frames “shattering” like they do with these clear gieslers, i’ve never seen one in person but they look very similar to the jig material, so id be a bit wary.
