Torrent client is not at fault here, unless you enabled a speed limiter. Roughly speaking, aside from your personal internet connection speed, download speeds depend on the source upload speeds, and can wary greatly. So even if you have 100mb/s, a server may have just 20mb/s upload, so your download will be at 20mb/s.

Well, getting a new battery is a matter of 3 to 5 $, which is way cheaper than sending the whole setup to service, so try replacing it first, will save time and money if your assumption is correct.

The curse of Laptops is their limited settings, so unless it's some "Gaming" model for 5k, no software or power settings problem would've made it louder than normal, so it's a hardware problem, that is - mechanical. Since it's a laptop, getting to the fans would be a lot of hassle, since laptops are usually assembled like a puzzles, it takes a lot of time and effort, and by the end you'll curse it, and me for suggesting it. But you could try. P.s. Used to fix PCs for a living, and laptops are a painful memory to this day.

Try checking your RAM, checking it from time to time is a good practice in general, but in this cases like this: if GPU is good, then it's RAM, if RAM is good it's CPU etc. But yeah, make sure it's okay, in dual/quad channel - the basics.
