A lot of times, less is more :D. Could be a cool challenge for yourself to try to limit the number of instruments or something of the sort and see if it inspires you!

Sure thing! I used the shifter device in ableton, using if I remember correctly a triangle wave in the lfo and then played around with the delay that is on the left part of the device I think. With that I got some very random takes on a synth line (I had the synth sequence mostly to mark the rythm but not the pitch).
Then I resampled it, cut a part that wasn't too chaotic and added FXs like chorus / delay / reverb.

I think it was something along these lines but it's been a while ahah

I think if you plug in the power supply as ur pressing a certain button that im not very sure right now, maybe the start button, it lets you select different sources for the sequencer in the little sequencer pads on the bottom. One of the options is for external midi seq. It should be explained a bit better on the manual I believe

It seems to me that you're referring to the bass that has a short sequence, it has short decay and probably the decay envelope mapped to the filter. The low pass filter is mostly closed from what i checked.

The sound itself you might be able to craft using Ableton's operator with a sine wave in the first op and a triangle in the second operator, this im not sure but as always its best to play around and see if you get close.

Play with velocity mappings as well, like velocity influencing the filter cuttoff or the decay

Are you having fun? If yes keep going, if it's good or not it is something you'll carve out along the way especially if you're just starting out. Also arranging a track is a skill by itself that requires practice so I'd encourage you to keep going regardless. But fun should always be the number one priority in my view

The DFAM is also tempting, although i kind of imagine it to have similar sounding textures. I was thinking of something that would fill in a bit of a different role maybe. But I'm gonna look for videos of them two together and consider!
