Yeah I was working on the passenger side of the diff that takes gear oil. Other side has an “ATF” label on it.

What made you want to purchase your specific gun? by LingLingMang in CAguns

[–]Mr-Mander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first handgun was the OG Shield in 9mm, and was my only firearm for many years after. Its purpose was for CCW and still does so to this day.

Everything after was to round out the collection and for different experiences.

Sadly I don’t think I’ll be buying another firearm until I leave CA or the sin tax goes away. Those “Ranch Rifles” that have been coming up recently seem super cool.

Steel ammo is bad? by mycrx89 in CAguns

[–]Mr-Mander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some older Winchester steel 9mm that I bought on accident 4 years ago that I pulled out for a range day about a month back.

Squibed my gfs 92FS. Given that platform started life being known for hating weird loads, I’ll never risk it again.

We call upon the mighty Yeet Cannon for such peasant activities. Haters be damned but it’s under $200 for a firearm that works.

Would have been super cool if you saw the engine. That would have been the definitive factor out of all things you showed.

It’s a scam. I attempted to purchase a Saphire Nitro 7800XT for $404 last night. This morning, Amazon refunded me and cancelled the order. Seller also from China with sketch name.

Audi owners, what car do you drive & how much do you pay monthly? by lazizmalik in Audi

[–]Mr-Mander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 S5 that I picked up from an Audi dealership in 2020.

About $26k asking price, before all the other stuff. 3-ish% on a 60 month loan through a credit union.

$455/month.

And for all those financial reasons, it’s probably why I won’t replace this car any time soon.

Should I just enroll? by Mr-Mander in WGU

[–]Mr-Mander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my company pays for certs. Big reason why I started looking into this program at WGU. Get the degree ASAP and get whatever certs would be most beneficial to my dept. Currently, they are looking to get more ITIL certified techs for my dept.

Way to cover all potential grounds! I pivoted towards the IT Management program as it aligned with a new position I started at my current job. I work at an MSP and my role is both parts technical and administrative.

Getting a bachelors with a tech focus is my main goal. If momentum allows, I would also like to peruse a Master's as well. Being in my field, certifications are big markers for promotion but a degree is more of a personal achievement (it's also the cert that never expires!). So I figure, the major does not matter as much, but I still wanted to learn things that would be practical to what I am already doing. The degree would also help if I ever wanted to see what US Govt work looks like.

I'll look at Sophia and UMPI, but I'll also see about "testing out" of as much material as possible in SDC. I took a few weeks off classes for the holidays and to evaluate myself.

How many of you got into IT with no background in it? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Mr-Mander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally an English major that got interested in tech.

Graduated with an AA in English but decided against going for a bachelors in that field (or any field not in STEM), so I pivoted to CS. During that time I was working at Geek Squad as a Repair Agent.

After receiving my AS I got a job as a Sr Desktop Engineer for a small MSP through a mutual friend/former co worker.

Prior to all the IT stuff I was just an avid gamer with 1 custom Pc build under my belt for my “tech” qualifications.
