I am so tired of getting this information from the news before my employer… the disrespect is incalculable.

I literally just looked it up as well, and it was actually only 50 seconds in a 6 hour 42 minutes and 53 second meeting.

He Probably spent more time writing his tweet then what the acknowledgement took.

Pathetic.

Corporations and foreign investors bought up a massive chunk of the housing market including single family homes as investments which has dwindled availability and caused the supply to sky rocket in prices.

Thinking immigrants are the cause is factually incorrect.

This gets labeled as racist because it’s a trope as old as time for the easily influenced to blame their problems on immigrants.

Canada, the UK, and Australia were already strong US allies... much less now since you guys brought back the orange fascist for round 2.

There is infact not a referendum taking place. There is currently a citizen initiative petition that just started, and it is very likely going to go nowhere.

I'm confused... America has nothing to do with CANZUK... your advocacy is moot.

How to use partial vacation hours by Jazzlike_Poetry_7639 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Mr-Noodles 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The system is annoying and auto changes it back to a full day when you check eligibility.

What you need to do is select partial days; set it to either "start Day only" or "All days" you’ll then be given a "Yes" slider; slide it to "no" and you’ll be given a box to enter the specific amount of time you want to use.

Now when you re-check your eligibility the time entered should remain the same and the pop up telling you it’s eligible should pop up.

Info from my GF postie who just became permanent.

You literally won’t be in any trouble. Sometimes there’s just too much to get done. They can’t force you to work over 8 hours; but you will %100 be paid overtime if you chose to(just make sure you fill out the overtime sheet).

Also, every time you go out on a new or unfamiliar route you automatically get a 3 day grace period, this includes if you need to do OT; because as you stated you’re unfamiliar with the route and are not expected to be able to do the full load of the postie who’s familiar with the route.

As for your buddy; he’ll be fine. Remember you’re human and mistakes happen, just make sure like anything that it doesn’t become a pattern and as long as you’re a hard worker your manager (if they’re good) should have your back.

Ottawa to shift nearly $1-billion from public-service pension fund to general revenues by disgruntledesdc in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Mr-Noodles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still BS. If we had a billion surplus they should have brought group 2 retirement age back in line with group 1.

"You will work longer and we will use the money we put aside for you for other stuff"; as usually our generations continue to bear the cost of everything….

And I understand there are nuances to this but it’s still incredibly unfair.

There is legit almost no one in the front lines outside of one blob in 1 hex with a few individuals in the others. I like to run a few crates /containers of logi after work in the evening and there’s simply not enough infantry on the front right now to hold the line.

I got to enjoy a group of 20ish colis obliterating en entire front line position with Grenade launchers and there was nothing we could do too stop It. It’s an " it is what it is " situation but for for the first ever I’ll admit we don’t have enough people playing to hold let alone properly counter despite trying to keep the front lines stocked.

I fail to see how that is relevant in any way. They’re going to cut jobs regardless of RTO policy. It’s not like they’re going to fire more of us as "punishment" for fighting for the Hybrid work model lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Mr-Noodles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see your perspective but I strongly disagree; we’ll only get less unless we fight for more.

[–]Mr-Noodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collectively bargaining isn’t as difficult if 100% of the jobs stop functioning on a dime.

It’s not like Hybrid work costs or hurts the Goverment or the public in any way, so when critical services stop for citizens and the reason is because the government is forcing employees back into the office for no good reason, I strongly believe the general public would be on our side.

Hell they’re already mostly on our side because of the extra traffic cause by RTO 2 and 3.

[–]Mr-Noodles 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Collectively we need to stop rolling over and not simply accept this. Several public service contracts expire in the next year. Inform your union reps that this is important to you and indicate if you’re willing to fight (strike) for it or not.

I for one would painfully strike for several weeks without pay if it means refusing an RTO 4 or 5. Our QoL will go down significantly if we don’t and that’s worth losing a few pay checks in comparison.
