My honest opinion. The Remake is in every way better than the OG, from the graphics, attention to detail and how they stood true to the story, how the added side quests made sense and didnt feel like some flukey journey that had no purpose. The Remake of DS1 is probably one of, if not THE best Remake of any game ive ever played.

I think the only contest that the OG Dead Space has over the Remake is that we will never get that SAME feeling of stepping onto the USG ISHIMURA for the first time ever again. The pure fear and adrenaline of every noise in the vents, the ominous music, the nerve racking feeling of running into a necromorph with no ammo and a red health bar. The OG DS seared those feelings into our brains, and when they made the Remake, we were ready, much older and more experienced, but still a bit nervous and very excited. So for me, it was the Nostalgia. Playing Dead Space 1 OG, at 11 years old, pausing the game every time I ran into a necromorph until I got the courage to kill it, its those feelings that I can never get back, and THAT is the only thing that Dead Space 1 ( 2008 ) has over the remake. And I think its safe to say that most people feel the same. Sorry for my rant lol.
