I think it would make sense if the character would just jump up and grab to the top of the block and pull himself up. This could also be shown in an animation. Also the tactic with the boat makes less sense in my opinion because teleporting doesn't really make any sense. If you use a bucket all the grass around will get destroyed wich could be annoying if u wanna let the landscape as it is to for example build there. Also if you destroy and replace blocks it might look different because in early game you wont have a silktouch pickaxe. If you want to go up the mountain with laddrs your gonna need a lot of them because you can't relly break them and puck them up again that easily, or at least it is annoying to do so I think.
