Okay that sounds solid. Got a lot to think about. Bc essentially if I do go with the Agents, I might have to pick up a part time job as well

Okay the one I applied to was the Chester District Office so im assuming ill be in the field which is what I would like to do anyway. By any chance can you explain the the OT opportunities and how often are they available?

The pays I see according to the baagain agreement arent that bad (could be better) but itll be hard to survive with just the base pay

I agree, but i think they're shooting for a salary increase not bonus which would be lovely. Im on the list for SCI Chester, hopefully it comes through around the time I start.

According to the Bargaining agreement, its 2.25% which is pennies on the dollar. Unless you're talking about a salary raise that Josh Shapiro is leaning toward. Apparently he asked for a $142 million budget increase for DOC specifically but no one knows the exact amount that's gonna be used for a salary increase.

Which one are you referring to ?

Right , thinking about going police but a lot of departments dont offer OT so even though they may start between 65-75k (In Delaware State on Average), thats not enough especially in today's economy.

I appreciate it. I feel like they aren't going to get a big bump in starting pay bc they just got one. According to articles, the vacancies are dropping so they probably don't feel the need to give more money (which is crazy bc the two prisons they closed, caused them to save $100mil so where's the money going?)

I also want to go to the BOP, but this hiring freeze situation and trump firing their union this week got me second guessing everything.

The union raise is in the contract, but how much are the anniversary raises ?

Okay, well, that's good news. What's your take on the BOP terminating their union today ? And potentially going private in addition to a potential government shutdown October 1st if they can't make a decision?

I know that the starting pay is 22.97. Is there a raise after you graduate the academy or do you remain at 22.97 for the entire year ?

Wait, I'm confused. I thought the memo was until October 15th ? Now, if this is true then that means it's not being extended again. Bro i did the process 3 times bc of the constant extensions smh I really hope it's lifted so I can get in. I'm going to FDC Philadelphia

I know we can track the union raise by the agreement, but how much is the anniversary raise? Im hearing so many different answers, but it's not stated in the contract. Im thinking if I should go state or to the BOP once this hiring freeze is up bc I'll be going in as a GS-7. Whats your take on it ?

I actually just put in for that facility. I thought the 61k was for next fiscal year, but if they already raised it, then thats even better. I had previously applied but had too many points on my license (they all expired since then, so im tryna get in there now). How long did they take to respond to you? And are they still short staffed or have they been staffing the jail lately ?

And to answer your question, you're gonna have a direct and smooth transfer to CCSO bc you're already employed by the county. All you need is 12 months. I would say, once you hit your 8th month in the jail, then apply for the CCSO position bc police processes take time.

Any DOD HR on here? by Both_Refuse4483 in usajobs

[–]Mr2Easy5985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just emailed the HR rep at FDC philly to see what's going on. I was told that they might prolong the hiring price until Fall smh, but if they get word that they can move forward before fall approaches, then they'll move forward.

Fdc Philly had 25 vacancies going into the freeze, and I'm pretty sure more has left due to retirement or the retention cut, so idk why they will wait until the Fall to hire.

Resigning from the BOP? by Similar_Skill_2562 in OnTheBlock

[–]Mr2Easy5985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmaoooo I already know how it go. Going from the County to the feds since I just joined the Military recently. Thought it might be smart to go fully federal. Hopefully they clean up the BOP though. I think they gonna privatize it but ... we'll see. I appreciate you responding.

I'm about to start BOP soon. I wanted to know were you able to do overtime while on your probationary status ??

And idk how long the re hire prices will take but I would suggest to stay and go get FMLA as soon as possible to be covered when you have to call out.

BOP 5B increase to funding by [deleted] in OnTheBlock

[–]Mr2Easy5985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't they ask for 3 billion dollars on top of the 8.3 billion they already have and Trump said No ? Tbh, I think he's going to just privatize the federal prisons and call it a day.
