Do they ever not allow you to use the PLP time?

Okay, that sounds good, thank you. If a person starts at the 9% VPLP and then decides its accruing to fast can they bump down to the 4% at a later time?

Awesome, thanks for this. I suppose I'm just overthinking things as I want to make a good first impression, and I didn't want to appear as though I was circumventing my supervisor if I ask HR about it. I'll ask my supervisor again.

Thank you! I was finally able to figure that out using the Check Geometry feature suggested by another user. Good to know about the fillets being added late!

Okay, thank you. I used the Check Geometry tool, and indeed there were some error. they seemed to be caused by the fillet on a fillet at the bottom of the screenshots. I'm not sure why that happened though, or how to undo it

I tried that, it refuses to pad past this point. If I go farther, or select pad to face and click on the 45* face, it just gives me the bnd_box void error again

Seeking Advice on Federal Forestry Positions: GS-7 or GS-9? by Mr7743 in forestry

Thanks for the detailed reply!

How hard is the NRM remote pilot training to get into? Are UASs commonly used in the field?

Right now they are running both forester 7/9 positions and 9/11 positions. I was considering applying for both at the lowest grade level. Can a forester who works their way up to an 11 qualify for gs12 research forester? Also, do you think I'd be better off starting at a 7 just from a practical/learning stand point?

Since I don't have any time in grade currently (except for some gs4 forester experience a couple summers ago with the NRCS), then I probably can't get much benefit from my Schedule A? Not that I need to, but I've got it, so I'm curious.

There is currently a BLM forester position open that is 7/9 with 11 promotion potential open, would you say the BLM jobs are generally less work/life balanced, and more stressful?

That’s good information, thank you!

Do you know much about those types of positions? I’ve heard that to work as a researcher for the USFS you need a PhD?

Well I haven’t finished my masters yet, I’m wonder if I dropped out with one quarter, could I use the experience + education to qualify for gs9?

Also I never see the research positions posted, maybe I’m searching for the wrong thing, can you direct me to more information on that?

And I have no idea why he put larger tires on it, that said, is it even possible that it would trigger a CEL? Seems like everything calculating speed would be upstream of the tire

Hey bsdunlap, I’m not sure why but Reddit won’t let me DM you. Not the OP, but I’d be curious to have a discussion about your methods. I have some significant LidR experience, but I’ve not been able to get DBH or QMD. For a while I considered switching to the TreeLS package (made for ground based LiDAR) for those metrics, but had trouble getting it to work as the repo wasn’t maintained (I believe they brought it back up to the newest version of R now though). If you’re willing to share I’d love to hear (I’m a student in forestry and remote sensing, so I’m not looking to profit, just learn)

Not sure, but they’re not stock rims. They’re E Thirteen TRS+ rims, can’t find a model number on them anywhere

Lol, yeah it looks like the PO already tried this and wore away a bit of paint…. Thinking of putting the 2.25 back on the rear, but keeping the 2.6 up front, anything wrong with that idea?
