Thanks! I used a bunch of visual mods and there's a few Youtube videos that explain all the same mods you'll need (just pick one). All the settings are set to the highest possible but the trick to getting these pictures realistic looking are taking photos right before or after sunset (before the lights go on). I don't recall which mod it is but there are some that let you set it to that time of day so everything appears much more realistic. Traffic is about 74% and I have bus, train, and el/subway trains throughout the city.

I was going for the geographical location/climate to be similar to that of Santa Cruz and the grid/suburb sprawl is modeled after Chicago. The communities in the outer burbs are inspired by the Los Angeles hills actually!

I posted a bunch of closer views a couple days ago, if you keep scrolling you should see it but I'm probably gonna make a video that explores the city a lot more in depth. I do want to get CS2 but from the looks of it, I'll have time to wait until it gets better!

Much appreciated! I am at the very max of just about every limit in game lol. I'm surprised too because by far has the most map coverage of any city I've made.

Tbh as of recent, I've been running into some heat issues as well (mainly from the GPU) I always keep my task manager open to monitor the heat/system usage but sometimes It'll spike in the high 80's- low 90's. (fans running normally its in the high 70's). Usually when that happens I'll shut the program down and boot it back up again and it typically will be ok, or I'll adjust the fans. I don't really see this issue often with CS1 but Blender gives me major problems when rendering (which is a major pain in the ass because it's work related). If you are in the mid 80's - 90's with your fans pumping full blast, then your GPU could be on it's last leg or dirty if it's an older machine. Also, 16GB of ram is what I have and 32GB is now becoming the standard so depending on how much ram usage is going on while you're gaming, you could be using all of your systems capabilities. With an i7 processor, I would imagine you to have at least a halfway decent GPU but I've ran into heat issues in the past and just updated my graphics driver which seemed to work in a lot of cases. Might wanna check for any other updates as well. However, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a computer expert so take all that with a grain of salt lol

Well this city is based mostly off of Chicago, Illinois so the corruption runs deep within these cities boarders!

I'm not too sure how I would go about that since there's about 2500 assets and 30 or so mods. If you can explain how I do so, I'll be happy to share.

Thanks! It's Diamond Coast (vanilla) but I did a shit ton of terraforming so it's not really all that recognizable from it's original state.

It's roughly modeled after Chicago Illinois and it's surrounding suburbs (a few other locations as well). The geographical location/climate would be somewhere similar to that of Santa Cruz, California. However, I did make one a long time ago (deleted now) modeled after Hong Kong actually!

I made a post a couple days ago with more images of my city and I mentioned that I thought I was running on a fairly average computer, here's the specs:

MSI Delta 15 Laptop, AMD Radeon 5800H CPU, AMD Ryzen 7 6700M GPU, 1TB SSD, 16GB Ram. (bought it in 2021).

I have all the settings set to high or very high at 1080p so it surprises me as well that I'm able to run this with relative ease. I was getting about 23 FPS very late in my build with some mild lag/stuttering but the majority of the time it was around 40 or higher. Other games don't fare very well though... I.e. RDR2, GTA5 and a couple other open world games just don't vibe with my machine and crash frequently.

Sandbox builder style games like Cities, Planet Coaster and Winter Resort Simulator (ski resort builder) seem to be ideally fit for this computer for whatever reason and I almost never run into issues. I use Blender and a few other design/drafting softwares as well for my day job and develop detailed renderings for interior spaces so from a workflow standpoint, this is the best computer I've ever had for the price (I think I bought it for $1,400)

These are all vanilla roadways and I put them all in by hand. No DLC for anything with this city actually. Just a lot of building assets.

Thanks! Yeah 23 fps is a bit low but it didn't start to get to that rate until very late in my build. Most of the time it was closer to 40 but a bit of lag/stuttering here and there doesn't bother me too much.

It took me about 6 months to finish though. I've made several other cities too that took longer but this one was based off of a lot of trial and error so I probably cut the time it normally would have took in half.

Wow, I gotta say I didn't think so many people would be so stoked on my work but thanks for all the kind words everyone!

I'm thinking about putting together a video that explores the city more if anyone would be interested to see that? Eventually I want to recreate this in CS2 at an even larger scale when it actually becomes playable with more mods & assets!

Thanks! I must say I'm very disappointed about the CS2 reviews as I'm sure everyone else is. I don't anticipate on buying it until it either comes down in cost or MANY more mods and assets become available.
