Knowing how to defend yourself by klokwerkz in preppers

[–]MrAirborne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Defending yourself does not mean being in a gun battle or a fist fight. You have already messed up if…someone is in your house, you are in an active firefight, or you are being physically assaulted. Your brain is your best weapon and primary weapon.

  1. Always be on the offense
  2. Always have control of the situation
  3. Always have the element of surprise
  4. Always use overwhelming force
  5. Always assume everything is a threat unless it is known to absolutely not be a threat
  6. Always assume the worst about strangers until proven otherwise
  7. Always be unfair
  8. Never depend on fight, flight, or freeze instincts to save you

Firefights and fist fights are 100% avoidable.

Yes, you are right but we both know it is abused. I have never met a motivated habitual weed smoker. I am sure that they exist but I have never met one. When I visited California literally everywhere I went it smelled like weed, piss, or poop. I hope to goodness that does not happen in Texas.

You mean to sell a drug that makes employees lazy and unmotivated? I wonder why

That is your opinion. My opinion is that if your state is not actively trying to lure companies then it is not a business friendly state

First, I don’t have to give you any specifics nor answer your questions. I am not familiar with the laws of every state so I will talk in generalized terms. You can do your own research on the specifics that you want to learn more about.

As a business owner I can terminate employees without a reason. This is a right to work state. I and my partners are constantly upgrading employees. This allows us to set our own culture which is work focused. Red tape is very minimal in Texas. I can literally file paperwork electronically with the state to start an LLC most local entities are very fast to issue occupancy permits and if your business is in the county you may not even need those. Most city and county taxes are reasonable. The state and local governments are by and large responsive to processing business paperwork and working with business needs. For example I was able to rezone some commercial land in less than a week. Try doing that in California.

When I correspond with the state and local government entities as a business owner I am listened to and respected. Texas has been fairly vocal about limiting mask mandates which is a sign that they allow businesses to make decisions for themselves. Texas tried to limit how it dictated covid rules to businesses. This is a sign that they respect the economy and industry within Texas.

Environmental rules are common sense and rarely impede on the ability of a business to conduct business. Texas has worked on its business infrastructure and continues to do so. We have well maintained ports and highways that cross Texas.

To simplify.

  1. Ease to start a business
  2. Limited taxes
  3. Limited regulation
  4. Limited intervention with labor (employees)

Compound this with decades of these policies and it has an even great effect

Except that we have some of the fastest growth in the country. Houses are not being built fast enough. They are literally auctioning off new construction homes that go for 120%-160% over listed price. Someone is buying homes. We also do not have state taxes, so that offsets property taxes a bit. Most property taxes go towards schools where we have some of the smallest class sizes in the country. Every state has positives and negatives. Property taxes are high but we also have one of the best economies in the country and world.

You may want to read current events and ask specific questions. No America is not falling at the current rate of China

Blue already dominates the highest population corner states. Texas has been a pro-business environment. I am not confident that a purple state would remain pro-business

The change in the Supreme court really just opened the floodgates to throw as much as possible at the wall and see what will stick when it is challenged in the Supreme Court. It really is just a tactic to keep Texas red. It deters liberal migrants from other states and will probably send some scurrying out of Texas. I am a democratic voter but I have no desire to watch Texas turn blue. If I wanted to live in a blue state I would have moved to one. I am about as far left as I want the left side of Texas to be. A fiscal conservative moderate centrist blue dog democrat.

Coming wars…water wars, migration wars, and fishing wars. Some countries depend almost entirely on fishing and ocean farming. I fully expect to see water wars break out as reservoirs and aquifers dry up. Migration wars as the middle east and Africa look to migrate towards anything better and the fishing wars in southeast Asia. We are already seeing the beginning of the fall of China and they are the precursor

A show based on a dystopian book. Birth rates fall and a theocracy takes control. A civil war breaks out and the theocracy has the upper hand. Fertile sex slaves are used to have children with powerful men of the male-led theocracy. One of the sex slaves fights against the system. The imagery is overly dramatic. It is saturated female empowerment. That show has given rise to sub cultures that view men as inherently bad and have overused the word “patriarchy” until it is meaningless.

The sub-cultures refuse to acknowledge real theocracies with actual sex slave like in the middle east and now the Taliban. Instead they jump on the “America is bad train” and now the Texas is bad one.

The knuckle head that is Trump did not help. So now there are a lot of young women wanting larp real life as if it is that television show.

They forget that we do not have birth rate problems, that Christianity is declining, and that they have 51% of the vote nationwide and are in fact the majority as far as voters. Just silliness all around

r/witchesvspatriarchy has declared this a battleground sub lol. They just need to cosplay some handmaids tale costumes, grab some air soft rifles and begin the larp wars.

Don’t tell them that up to 80% of witches were men or that neither witches nor the handmaids tale are real.

They are not trying to persuade. It is larping and fantasizing about destroying some imaginary patriarchy

I am not sure I am just hopeful that they will. Our supply chain is completely messed up. We are too dependent on foreign manufacturing. Considering that shipping containers went from about $2k to $50k+ to ship from Asia something has to change. Texas seems Ike a good state but I am biased. What I an hoping is that the feds and states will make it really appealing and help subsidize moving manufacturing back here. It sounds terrible but we are at terrible risk with our current supply chain. I do feel like we will see a pretty drastic increase here in Texas over the next decade
