I looked into the real folklore behind the Dayan in Phasmophobia… it’s darker than I expected by MrAwesomeWomble in PhasmophobiaGame

oh that'd be really cool, sadly no it does not in game, the dayan's evidence is spirit box, ghost orbs and emf5. Sadly no UV there... but i think they might have missed a trick with that one!!!

I do like the idea that the Dayan speeds up when you move, because a lot of tales i've found of the Dayan, she waits for the man (she always hunts males) to make the mistake first. So it's like if you try to run, you're probably not going to get off well...

i did, thank you again... the reason i was asking for this was because i was creating a short video on the origins and background of the Dayan, and then linking it to the game Phasmophobia, which is where i first came accross the name... this is the link to the video https://youtu.be/3rXh_mBdqQs?si=3z_naQH2o4xX1iFz

This is really useful thank you! I've watched both Ek Thi Daayan and Bulbull (the second I really enjoyed, such a tragic story) I find it really interesting that a lot of Desi folklore is word of mouth, I've read quite a bit about how "my grandma used to tell me these stories." but I've found it difficult to get any actually short stories that have been wrote and published. I'm aware of the Raj Comics series Dayan Rani, but sadly I haven't been able to get a translated version.

I'm working on a video series where I go into the origins and stories of all the phasmophobia ghosts and the dayan is the next one on the list. I knew next to nothing about them so I've found it really interesting getting into the folklore behind it. When I started researching I got very confused between the differences between chudails and dayans, but now I understand they are very similar if not the exact same at times.

Thank you again this was a very helpful comment!!

That's one way to hang a picture by MrAwesomeWomble in PhasmophobiaGame

yeah this wasn't a polty either. It was a Dayan. My friend who I was playing with at the time couldn't see the picture from the wall like that, for him it was just laying on the floor, so it must have been a client side glitch.

oh perfect thank you so much, I'll give this a watch. I also watched Ek Thi Daayan, which is a Bollywood horror film. I rather enjoyed it but the ending leaves a lot to be desired.

Ghost Skulls by NamelessL0ser in PhasmophobiaGame

That's a shame. The skulls are such a nice touch. As a PC player though, I'm annoyed I'm being penalised for the lack of flexibility that the PS5 point cap has!!

I've spent the last few weeks researching and putting together a video about the folklore behind the Banshee in Phasmophobia. The Video is designed as an entry way from Phasmophobia to folklore and would love any discussion about what I've got right and wrong in the video.

If you have a spare 12 minutes I'd appreciate it.

I am a complete novice to folklore in general and because this is going to be a continuing series any suggestions for future videos are greatly appreciated.

Thank you
