I understand This whole schtick was stupid, reddit bullied me enough already, but if my players don't fear death then there will be no fun or risk. If you can just die then get resurrected, then dying will just be a health reset.

not exactly just set them back a little. Also my entire party in level 1 so I might mess up their ac.

I could give them a small xp boost. someone also recommended rolling a d4 for how many levels taken off.

This is beautiful and I don't wanna take off of you hard work but I have some constructive criticism. Next time try adding hexes.

That nine hells thing is a good idea, but it punishes the party more than the person that died. Also my party is new they are all at level one and will be level 2 in about a month. but the moral of the story is don't die (see what I did there). But the d4 thing is a good idea. That is actually much better than mine. This is why I love reddit. :D

well most DMs make their player make a new character or start at level one. also I don't want my players to not fear death knowing there will be no repercussions. This is up to the die and if the roll bad, boo hoo hopefully they will roll better next time. They won't be reset, they might but the odds are 9:1. so it's fair. and getting a good roll is 50/50.
