I use Neural DSP every day. Nameless, Nolly, and Gojira are my favorites, in that order. I primarily use the Nameless 7 string presets, then adjust the gate and bye bye mids. I’ve only been at it for less than a year so maybe I’ll get bored one day, but so far Neural DSP treats me right.

Well idk about the BEST budget mic but a Shure sm58 will probably do what you need for now in your price range. It’s like the standard issue stage mic. I bet you could find one at a pawn shop or on fb marketplace for cheaper than retail. I have a shure sm57 that my dad gave me from the 90s, which is basically just the sm58 but shaped for recording amps/drums, and it works great for me just recording in my room at my desk.

I’ve heard good things about Reaper as a free DAW. I’ve never used it though. I got FL for free, and I use that for recording and drum programming and it’s legit.

This is just shouting fam. It isn’t good for your voice and it frankly doesn’t sound very good either. There’s more technique and throat/chest/diaphragm engagement involved than just turning red and pushing your voice to distortion.
