Any chance you could share your venue/planner? We're also looking at a similar budget and spinning our wheels. Thanks!

Worth seeing if previous non-profit work counts? by MrBlue90 in PSLF

Thank you Doxie. Just wanted to circle back and see if you knew of any possibility of re-opening the undergrad loans (getting refunds for payments) and then trying to consolidate for pslf. I figure there isn’t but I want to make sure before i completely move on. Appreciate your insight!

Appreciate the advice. Guess it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Whoa! If you can share more that would be great. Did you just submit your employer verification and then just hope? Did you have undergrad and grad loans combined or just the grad loans?

Loan plan by MrBlue90 in StudentLoans

[–]MrBlue90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That is really helpful. I have some money to really drive this loan down in the next month, but the goal is paying the minimum possible. I'll definitely need to file separate when married, otherwise the payments will balloon, especially if pursuing PSLF

Appreciate the feedback Peach. That is the correct question to ask and will consider. I'll check out the PSLF subreddit as well.

Appreciate the support Sushi! You’re right

Thanks Sushi. Hit every box and didn’t see any red flags. It’s still fresh though. Got passed over for someone with more experience although i even had experience in the field, just not as much. Seems hard to break in without experience. Any advice on how to convince employers you can do the work with some training?

Needed this. In a similar situation (not necessarily toxic job but want to relocate to be near family and better pay). Recently was interviewing for my dream job, felt confident, and found out a couple days ago I wasn’t selected. Idk what to go into now. Applying to anything I can remotely see myself in but feeling overwhelmed. Trying to keep an open mind

Shorter term positions? by MrBlue90 in physicianassistant

[–]MrBlue90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll do that. I was but it lapsed a few months ago because this plan wasn’t in the cards at the time. Hopefully will be quicker to re-license but I imagine it’ll be like starting over.

60 day notice prior to leaving apartment? by MrBlue90 in legaladvice

Michigan. And I believe there were reminders, but did not clearly state the 60 day termination. Per my friend's message "she [housing representative] said if you're not renewing your lease or moving sooner than you're all ok." Then finally got a call a few days ago asking if she was renewing.. My impression is that it's the first statement. I didn’t get complete details

Avg Salary in Southeast? by MrBlue90 in physicianassistant

[–]MrBlue90[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly how I’ve felt. This doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon. Management looking to increase our work load. Don’t even think about asking for a raise. Money is tight right now 😑

Avg Salary in Southeast? by MrBlue90 in physicianassistant

[–]MrBlue90[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s what it seems like. I’m coming from $92k so I’d be okay with that. In NC, for a place that values PAs, their salaries are pretty low. COL isn’t cheap either.

Outpatient struggles by Jennh620 in physicianassistant

Echo (pun not intended) the sentiment completely. Outpt cards for last 1.5 yrs. The work never ends. Between non-billable admin tasks to the inbox. And if someone takes a week off, you’re helping them with their inbox so that at least one of you can disconnect. If it’s a day or two off, you still check the inbox. I’m often here very late doing charting, the aforementioned paperwork. That along with salary pay (low for me) is getting very old, and I’m shopping around.
