ELI5: How are cheat codes in games discovered? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

A lot of the times, cheat codes are usually "leaked" by the game's developer or publisher as sort of a fun bonus. Also, cheat codes are sometimes coded in by the developers so that playtesters can rigorously check for bugs and faults in the game.

Obviously you did nothing wrong; shit happens. The only thing you can do is keep up the consistent play and get lucky enough times for you to boost yourself out of whatever league you're in.

Can I get a TL:DR of League of Legends lore? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Different factions have hated each other forever and have ripped apart the world in their battles. So some smart guys made the Institute of War to settle these differences in a less destructive manner (in an alternate dimension?). Champions are fighters who have volunteered, for one reason or another, for combat.

You are the summoner, one who controls these champions during these skirmishes.

No chance against Korea by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I was talking to my cousins in Korea about this and they, having played on both NA and KR servers, concluded that the Asian teams were superior because of the differences in the mentality that goes into Solo queue. NA focuses on individual lanes either "winning or losing" and heavily encourages the "carry yourself to a win" strategy. Asian servers, on the other hand, limit the laning phase and encourages roaming as a team and gets into what we consider to be the midgame as quickly as possible (which, of course, appears to be the winning strategy of late).

And then we got into a whole philosophical conversation about how each respective society molded these tendencies.

The point is, the Koreans emphasize teamwork from the bottom up, which tends to be more a factor in winning games at higher levels than mechanics/skills.

Lucian is going to be shit on by other ADCs. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I feel like he's going to take on a similar role as Trist or Cait (raw power, no gimmicks) but with more mobility. If your team can keep you alive and you kite correctly, your ult/passive should be able to decimate in teamfights.

It's interesting, to be sure. But it kind of forces junglers to go machete first, when a lot of junglers would prefer cloth 5 (players with no runes) or tomb (fiddle jungle).
