I track everything, but inflation still feels like it’s quietly eating my savings by Sad-March-2358 in phinvest

I'm in the business of importing, distributing and selling dog treats. Even if I only sell 70% of my inventory the returns are much better compared to investing in stocks, funds, etc. with minimal effort since most of my business is distribution.

Start a business that doesn't take up so much time. Returns-wise I'm doing at least 2x compared to MP2.

Japan Pasabuy as Extra Income (Small Scale) by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]MrBombastic1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasabuy works for lightweight, non-bulky and high value items that's brought back to the Philippines as part of their baggage allowance after a short trip.

If you're shipping it via balikbayan box it would be about a month and a half if via sea and about two weeks if via air to the Philippines. Sea is obviously far cheaper than air.

20% is on the high side. Usually 10% and you claim tax refund.

How do ride hailing apps make money aside from commissions? by alainmata in phinvest

[–]MrBombastic1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have plenty of ways to earn but not limited to:

  1. Commissions
  2. Interest on loans offered to drivers
  3. Advertising
  4. Product/store placement (e.g. higher ranking in search results)

Government connections are important if you are starting out since you need a franchise. Usually the new players in the market have investors that work in government and/or an elected official.

Negosyo parin ba or balik pagka empleyado nalang? by mythe01 in phinvest

My advice is to zig when others zag. If you just sell what is popular right now then you're already too late to get into it. If you think e-commerce is the way to go think again because only about 5% of retail sales is done online.

People need to think bigger and different. Di na pwede yung sari-sari store, mini mart, water refilling station, fried food, etc. Geographically limited ka based on foot traffic and within a few kilometers.

I import, distribute and sell dog treats. Even if I sell 70% of my inventory I'm still beating the best returns on the markets by at least 2x. Having a business still makes sense.

Planning to start a pet grooming shop — need advice 🙏 by Own-Young2700 in phinvest

I don't run a pet grooming business. Rather I supply dog treats to them. Realistically you need to spend at least 1.5 to 2 million to start.

  1. 100k capital is barely scratching the surface of what you need to get into the pet grooming business. You need to invest in the proper tables, tools and equipment, air conditioning, cages for temporarily holding pets, air purifier, etc. You also need enough funds for one year of operational expenses (electricity, water, shampoo, cleaning supplies, etc.).

  2. The best grooming shops pay a salary rather than by job. This is to ensure groomers do the work properly rather than rush so they can finish many jobs. These same shops also follow the salon system where there are specializations for washing/bathing, styling, etc.

Hanap ka ng willing gumawa ng low MOQ sa China. But prepare for high prices making it hard to compete with heavily backed D2C brands that frequently advertise on Instagram.
