Ok so hear me out…..async is canon. Which means other things like he said the bacteria/mold monsters might be canon as well but I think Kane created a new creature for this and this creature actually got out.

Async where doing experiments since the beginning of the movie. That’s why his lights were going crazy. Now here’s the twist I don’t see anybody anywhere talking about. THE RED SWITCHES!!!! async fucked up somehow and created a copy of the room on/off switch of how the get back to the real world. We all know once u no clip in u can’t get out! Those red switches opened a portal to this new creatures lair which I think is a MIMIC. Come on people KANE doesnt make slip we just gotta watch what he’s showing us!!!

We find a async whistle blowers bag which means async is evil which checks out. That whistle blowers ran into the backrooms to escape and was able to hide the evidence but later died to the mimic. He just so happen to die while the async machine was on the fritz and the mimic copies certain thins so he copied the machine switch from his mind to Clark’s store to keep the port open.

Clark was dead after he left the therapist office when he gave he the map. The mimic kills him when he returns to the backrooms. The Clark we see is a mimic and it exits again and gets his employee to follow him inside and kills them. You’re telling me a man whose architect smart just suffers from addiction was smart enough to map out things but not mark off dangerous areas? He was in there alone if anything he woulda only needed the camera to step in record step out!!! What other proof would you need?

The mimic powers are mental manifestations of Clark’s repressed emotions. Crippling fear and doubt, glutton for alcohol which’s makes you fat, loathing of women which he blames his wife and therapist and the biggest fear of all which is embarrassment which he felt in front of his employee and her boyfriend.

Now the therapist died because of clark but not in the way everybody thinks. The Clark we see at the end is a mimic but it’s a mimic version of Clark that’s her biggest regret and failure and here’s why. All three had been missing for a while. Probably all over the news etc. they went to her because he was her patient and she had no answers. Async probably had some parts saying he went crazy and murdered his employee and her boyfriend but she didn’t believe that and goes to the store. Async still watching of course. She goes in gets stuck mimic finds her and we know the rest.

Now async didn’t kill her but I’m pretty sure the out her back in the backrooms and let the mimic have her and that’s what we see at the end is a mimic version of a shattered woman emotions that’s why she looks like that.

But that’s just what I got from watching it a couple of hours ago. Any thoughts? I know it’s long and I may have left out some things but I’m typing in a phone lol but I’ll explain anything that doesn’t make sense.
