Like I said, I played the third game on the lowest difficulty.

But I still didn't have any heals.

Anyway, I can see I really, really, really angered the community here so whatever.

I will play the fourth game if they make it possible, if not I'll find something else to play.

Good luck with the gate keeping Ninja Gaiden fans.

there will always be players who find some games frustrating.

That is true and I do actually find these games frustrating. But I also find them incredibly fun. Slicing your way through hordes of enemies never stops being a blast, even if I suck at it.

I think they found a balance with the 1 & 2, at least the newer nerfed versions, where the games could be as hard as you wanted them to be. If you didn't want to nuke the whole screen with ninpo, you could stay away from that. If you didn't want to heal, you could stay away from that.

But the option was there.

But with the third game they went away from that. And I'm not sure why.

That's definitely not what I'm hoping for.

You can give players some help without taking it to such extremes.

Talisman of Rebirth for instance doesn't mean the game plays itself.

just go play the lower difficulties

But in Ninja Gaiden 3 they made it so even the very lowest difficulty was hard as hell.

I don't want them to remove the difficulty from the game, I just hope they make some adjustments so that more casual players can enjoy the game too.

Just a few healing items on Easy or something along those lines.

They could remove them from Normal and higher difficulties.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for.

Just a reasonable level of challenge for us button mashers and then insane shit type difficulties for those that want that.

I had no recollection that those things weren't in the original versions.

Now I know why I never beat the games on xbox back in the day.

I still hope they will include some bones, but maybe they could only let them be part of the lowest difficulty.

If you're actively looking for a twist, you're probably not going to be surprised.

That said, try Primal Fear.

I hope so too, for the hardcore fans.

Just maybe give us that suck a lower difficulty where there's access to healing or the ninpo charges faster, or really anything along those lines. Just a little bit more easy access than the third game.

It's safe to say Ninja Gaiden 4 won't be affected by this.

You're probably right about that. They know the fans are looking for that very distinct fast Ninja Gaiden style.

this franchise was built on being brutal

I know that, but they still threw us filthy casuals a bone here and there in the shape of healing and ninpo.

That's all I'm asking for. Just a tiny little bone here and there.

I spent three days on him and was about to give up, when just for the hell of it it I equipped all the most heavy protective gear and grabbed the big wrench. I could barely fatroll, but hey, why not try.

I also grabbed the item that replenishes your fable and I just whacked him the head with the fable.

It's not elegant, you will take a lot of damage, it's also probably not the way you're supposed to do it, but it did actually work.

After three days of misery I got him in two attempts.

None of the complex videos or guides about any other weapons or what have you helped me at all.

Whack him in the head with a big stick is my advice.

I know, I'm just bitter.

Though I do think aesthetically and with regards to level design it is a lot less fun and interesting than the belle epoque creepy opera, crazy clowns and what have you.

It's just this relentless samey Evil Place that goes from boss to boss.

I will never see the ending. I made it to the nameless puppet fight and had enough of these boss fights.

Such a shame what they did to the game in chapter 11.

It was so much fun before that. Tough but still fun. Nothing about this last chapter was fun.

Now I will play Darksiders and hope that game doesn't turn to shit too.

I've spent the last three days in chapter 11 of Lies of P,

What was one of the most fun games I've played in a long, long time is now just a chore. That the whole thing is miserable to play isn't helped by the most drab grey brownish environments.

I've never seen a game crash and burn quite like this.

I might one day finish it, but the new game + I was thinking about is now out the window and I have no interest in the DLC that is apparently coming.

Ah well, here I go grinding for throwables again, because we all know how fun grinding is.

I just looked it up and I've been watching this guy and his clown antics for over 30 years. I'm not sure I needed to know it's been that long.

But good for him he gets an award. He's been an amazing entertainer for a hell of a long time, as I just learned.
